Yes, I agree. Mass produced meat is shocking and scary. If you look at the price difference between free-range and non-free-range it is quite a lot in my opinion. This shows how much quality is comprimised. For a farmer to make the same amount of money it takes a lot longer the natural way.

It is scary how many people I know who had cancer (and died from it) in the past 10 years. I am convinced it is connected to all the junk and crap in the food.

Ahh....I think I should have been born Amish.

Thanks for this! I havent' had a better excuse than "pay now or pay later" when hubby reaches for the cheap chicken... goodness..
It's all quite inhumane! -which is really my personal reasons for shopping free range. Is free range even good enough? I wouldn't even know where to get organic meat.. :(

Free range organic meat is the only kind I buy. I'm not as fussy with veg, because they dont inject them with hormones:)

free range Chickens - it is fine to allow LO to munch on bones

Battery Chickens - not so much. They are basically force fed and then injected with all sorts of hormones, steriods etc in order to make them nice and plump and to keep them "fresher" for longer.

Chicken wings are almost poison, as this is where the birds are injected
Some chicken meat is also injected with brine to make the shelf life longer

Chicken really is scary stuff

Your baby isn't eating the actuall bone, just "teething" on it right?

So dont stress too much, but organic is a good way to go regardless.

Thank you so much Kirst. I guess I will have to turn into an organic mum.
