When my daughter moved over to cows milk the clinic sister suggested I put her on Woolies Ayshire full cream milk, she said it is better than Nido and the likes coz its hormone free and has additional probiotics in it.

I purchase a 3 ltr woolies milk a week for my lg and buy other low fat milk for our household.

I never used to be so concerned about the milk untill my LO moved to cows milk. If you think about the amounts toddlers consume everyday, it makes a huge difference if the milk you are giving are filled with "crap" (short for antibiotics, hormones, poor diet) or not.

I find that often the woolies milk costs the same as clover, but it isn't the same quality. Even if it is R3 more per 2 liters, I think it is worth it.

This is how clover describes their milk:

Clover Fresh Full Cream Milk is a completely natural full cream milk (absolutely no additives or preservatives added). Clover’s high quality standard ensures you get the best possible milk. Clover Fresh milk is hygienically treated throughout production to ensure long lasting freshness and it is also homogenised.

(whoop whoop. no additives or preservatis added. It doesn't say anything about how the cow gets treated or what she ingests)

I wouldn't buy this.

No, I prefer the woolies one. As far as I know the others do contain "rBST hormone, antibiotics and are fed on animal by-products" unless stated otherwise.

Thanks for the replies ladies!

so except for the pricing, full cream milk = full cream milk except for the organic ones?

so nutrition wise, any brand full cream milk is fine?

I generally always buy the cheapest one i can find on the day and was just wondering if there is any difference between all the names or not really....

ha ha ha memo.

I am amazed to see the prices fluctuate weekly, between woolies/spar/pick pay.
