Another question - maize cereal

YAY! Thanks Jems you're a lifesaver today So I suppose the difference then is just that maize cereal is cheaper than rice cereal? Purity rice cereal 100g is R9.99 and maize cereal 200g is R12.99 hence me grabbing the maize cereal

The reason they say rice cereal is because wheat cereals contain gluten which can cause an allergic reaction. Maize doesn't contain gluten so that is fine!

In my haste to forage for supplies in Checkers last night I grabbed a box of maize cereal instead of rice cereal. Can my 5.5 month old have this? Or should I rather return it or keep it for when she's older? Everyone always says rice cereal so I'm nervous to give it to her.
