Anything different with C-Section #2?

Thanks for the topic Cleo:) I had an emergency c section with my first and considering an elective with my 2nd in Feb. Do you have an enema and have to abstain from food if its an elective c section? Also will you carry your first Lo around after the op? I don't see myself telling my son I can't carry him

I have 2 emergancy c-sections, and both were fine. I had less pain the second time round - but I am sure this is because I use hypnobirthing to deal with it. I was still up and about a couple hours after delivery. Healing time seemed the same. They cut on the same spot, so no new scar.

I'm going to be having another c-section for my 2nd child and was just wondering if there are any other considerations to take into account in terms of how different the body is after a first c-section i.e. re-cutting at the same spot as the first (I assume this is what is done), healing time, emotional stuff etc.
