Natural birth for Twins

Thank you so mch for the kind advice. I have contacted Femina and will make an appointment to speak to someone there.

I am still struggling to get my husband to budge to have a midwife help with delivery...
He feels it must be a doctor...

I have researched some doctors and contacted all labour wards at some Pretoria hospitals. The following two names came up:
dr Lynette Reynders and dr Martine Dehandschutter

According to the head of these wards these two Doctors have done natural deliveries for twins. At Wilgers and Kloof they adviced me not to try natural twin deliveries (said they don't know of gynaes who has done them there)
Please comment if you know anything about them the above mentioned doctors and twin deliveries!

I used the midwifes from midwifes exclusive from Femina for my home birth I had in January.They are wonderful. I would definately reccomend them. I'm not sure if they will do twins. But I really hope for your part that they will.

Yip, check out www.midwives-exclusive.co.za/ to learn more about the midwives in Pretoria. They do practice at Femina, but I'm not sure if they will do twins. Best is to ask them, and then maybe use Dr Swart as gyni.

But Anthea, Marie-Louise is a doula, not a midwife. She's great though and is a breastfeeding consultant as well. Great to have with twins, you're gonna need it!!!

Ps: i live in Centurion and choose to travel to Arcadia to know that i got, and will get again, the best birthing experience that i wanted!!

Femina Clinic in PTA also have a natural birthing unit, Hasie might know the name. Contact Marie-louise Steyn, she is a midwife there and would be able to advise you on the possibilities of a natural birth... And should it be necessary to go to the hospital then the FeminaClinic is right there!

She would also be available to advise which gynae at the hospital would be pro-natural birth with twins... Like Hasie wwould tell you that hospital has the highest natural birth rate innthe country... You can read her comments on the VBAC thread about the hospital!

I had a wonderful fully natural (no meds or epidural) experience at the hospital in 2010, and they were just as supportive and wonderful when i was rushed to hospital with bleeding on Sunday!
