C-Section or Vaginal

Shantal, I have found, by just reading on the forum and speaking to friends, that you have to have a really good idea about what you want your birth outcome to be. You have to be convinced in your heart what it is you want for you and your baby. If you are undecided, the outcome will most likely be a c-section, because that is the way in which you will be steered. Unless you have a very pro natural birth gynae, which is very scarce.

Read books, speak to people who've had natural births and c-sections, speak to your baby and "listen" to what your body and your baby want. If it's a c-section and you are convinced about it, that is also fine. Just remember, it is your choice, you shouldn't let others make it for you.

It's very sad when someone has had such a traumatic experience that they'd rather not want to go through again. People instill so much fear in us. I had much the same experiences like Hasie.

Hasie, to get back to what you said about the pain of c-section. One of my friends just had her third baby via c-section. She had to be on incredible strong meds for incredible pain afterwards. This medicine made her hallucinate violently during the night and she got panic attacks. Her words to me was "I wanted to die". That to me was so scary. In between all this she had to breastfeed and look after her baby.
