Can't believe our LO's are nearly 3. Have been struggling with potty training. Aah the joysxxx

Tess how is the pregnancy coming along? When it the babba due should be soon now.

How are all the little ones.

M is doing well - talking like crazy these days.
Not yet started potty training again ...
Strange thing is he suddenly went off milk. He still asks for his bottie - but does not drink it. He just holds it as a comfort thing but refuses to drink the milk. Are they still supposed to be drinking milk? Should I be concerned. He eats well otherwise. loves yongurt cheese and other milk products. I even tried putting chocolate powder or sstrawberry nesquick but he is having no milk.

I must admit that I have 3 major mental hurdles with Aran at the moment:
1. ditching the bottle at nap and bedtime (he uses a sippy cup all another times)
2. ditching the dummy (you are not alone Nadz but Aran only uses it to sleep, so not sure how to proceed)
3. potty training

You know, I don't even take Aran to the shops etc anymore, unless DH or my mom are with me and there isn't any major important things to do, so if he's crabby we just pack up and go home.

We are having our 2nd baba in August (should be ….. interesting) as Aran is very used to having everyone's undivided attention all the time. So this should make for interesting times.

Oh Nadz, if Bella is using the dummy all the time, start by limiting it to her bed or cot. A friend of mine tied her LG's dummy to the bed so if she wanted to suck it she had to sit in bed - well, not so interesting after a while, so she would just leave it. As I said, Aran already only has it to dud, so not sure what the next step should be ??

Bella was born on the 13th of March - one of the most beautiful days of my life!

The past two years has flown past ... Bella's brother is only 9 months old (18 months difference) I thought it would be a good idea to have them as close as I could - many people said it will be challenging, but wow! Some days can be very challenging! Don't get me wrong - I would not change it for the world and love both of them so much.

Mmmmm, the subject of potty training is still a very scary thought? How to approach it, what to do - I just don't know where to start?

Then dummy? If any of you know of any DSA (dummy sucker anonymous) meeting I can send her - please let me know. Or you can just share some advice - will be greatly appreciated

Glad to see I am not the only one struggling though huge tantrums and dramatic emotional outburst. However, B started talking very early and can hold many a conversation. So I try to get her to tell me what it is she wants and pretend to not understand if she is crying and screaming for something. Sometimes it works, other times it just makes things worse

We had another tantrum at the shops today! Those silly play areas that they insist on having at the enterance. Anyhow I was all prepped to let M play there - he moaned the whole time till we got there and then when we got to the play park he just wanted to watch the other children. Anyhow home time arrived and he refused to leave. Eventually the promise of a bottie got him out of there. Then he threw his toys out of the cot in the car because I am not allowed to drive without his teddy bear song cd playing. Aah the joys of Motherhood..

The potty training has not progressed further... M only uses it as a tool not to go bath. When I tell him its bath time he says potty mama and then sits on the pottie for 1/2 an hour watching the telly.

Thinking of TTC number 2 - havent told DH yet, but sure he wouldnt mind. It took so long with M, so don't want to get my hopes up. Starting to plot fertile days etc. not getting any younger, will be 35 this year...

I think the whining comes with the territory! But I find I can distract Aran. Like if he's whining for cheese or juice or something, I will tell him to go fetch a bowl/cup while mamma cuts the cheese. Or if he wants a movie, I'll tell him to drink up his milk/eat his food while I put the movie on. It's all negotiation, all the time DH thinks I'm too soft on him, but who wants to listen to a crabby toddler ALL day?!?!?

I invited M2H and Naz, so hopefully we will see them on here soon!
