Justine - I started very young , I am 37 now, we havent told our family or friends yet as I have had a blighted ovum before and dont want to get to excited until we get to see our bean and hopefully heartbeat, I know my daughter is going to throw a tantrum of note when she finds out so not looking forward to that announcement, She is writing exams in July so I thought 3 Aug is the day I am telling her , otherwise it is just an excuse as to why she didnt do well in her exams. I only got married to my DH last year in Nov , and she is not a fan of him.

Morning all the ladies,

Wow this thread is picking up. And I love it!

Cisca, I am sorry for your loss. Do pop in every now and again and give us updates on your TTC. Will miss you lots.

Welcome Mom2B. LO means Little One. DH means Darling Husband. You will pick up the lingo quickly. Just ask if you have any questions. Where are so here for you!

Chubby as for NUK - stay away if you can. They leak, they discolour, they loose their printing. I have had very good feed back regarding the Avent and Tommy Tippee bottles. The nice thing about them is that the bottle cap covers the nipple point where the milk comes out so that they don't leak when they fall over. As for NUK you have this stupid disk that you have to take out and insert every time. I have lost mine so many times and have had to rebuy them and they are expensive. So not worth the effort!

Chubby - I have an very bad underactive thyriod. Went to my endocrinologist this morning. My medication is staying the same but she felt something on the thyriod so I need to go for a sonar as soon as possible. The bloods in 4 weeks, luckily only TSH. Then when I am 4 months pregnant full blood count, then every 4 weeks till the end of my pregnancy for TSH counts. So going to cost me an arm and a leg again! Luckily with the specialist which I didn't have with my first pregnancy I feel a lot better and at ease. Not as worried. Also had pre-eclampsia with my first. Really bad blood pressure, head aches, MS till 19 weeks....list continues. So for the two of us I am praying that I thyriods play nice!

We have told everyone! I am now 9 weeks and 5 days. Just haven't told my boss but have told my HR. Boss is in a foul mood, and don't want to mess with him right now.

I am also the youngest of three and got a lot of hand me downs. I promised myself I would never do that to my children. So for the big things, they stay the same, the small things that I can replace I am going to. New baby some new things. Hoping that it is a girl, then I can replace all the blue I have.

Debbie please start a due date calendar: mine is 3 Feb 2012.

Lollipop - sorry about your MIL. Very inconsiderate. I too don't like sharing a char. Had so many problems because of my sister. See my sister isn't strict so they get away with murder, and stealing, where with me I am strict and watch them, so they tend to leave me. And once they leave me my sister comes to her senses and lets them go and just takes mine new one again. Happens over and over.

As for the shake, got it over the weekend. Will take one to work tomorrow.

Debbie, wow a 17 year gap! what does your oldest think about the new arrival? we started pretty late, so if i had 17 year gap i'd be a 50 year old mama!

re bottles, i have quite a few Nuks that are still in good shape. I bf for the first ~6 months last time, so will try and do that again. i quite like nuks, particularly because they dont leak.

Chubbychick, what kind of research do you do? i had a rather extended stay at UCT and almost ended up in research. i love my job now, but i do sometimes dream of what life would have been like doing that kind fo work.

we havent told anyone. not a sole. Im going to try and hold out until my next scan at 9 weeks 2 days. all going well there and we'll let the cat out of the bag :)

Mom2B, i hear you about the freezing winter sunshine! still, you're right about wanting to take it back when it warms up. sadly we are all going to big and unconfortable in the hottest part of the year. Im planning in advance to wallow in our pool like a whale

Hi ladies,

I used Dr Browns bottles for my LG. NOT going to use them again, as it is very hard work washing all the different parts and they leak as they get older. I was thinking of using NUK this time round, but you don't sound keen on them either. So what do I use then?

Mom2Be - congrats on your pregnancy! How old are you?

I am freezing my butt off!!

My gynae phoned and my thyroid meds were doubled. Must go pick up the script in town since I work on a research farm.

Still very excited about the new LO!

Have any of you told other people yet?

Lovely day!!!

Hi all,

Ciska, :( I am so sorry that you have to go through this. Keep your chin up and try again. Hope you have good news soon!

Justine, glad you saw your babba

I am going to use nuk again. but not those stupid nuk teets. YOu get that long thin one and then you get the broad round one. I use any bottle actually just replace the teets with nuk.

Anyhoo, glad the rest is doing good! welcome to all the new moms!

MS not so bad since I started taking my vitamines before bedtime. Now I can enjoy my meals.

enjoy your day ladies!!
