Justine - thanks for the update. Was wondering about it. As for cheese, what sorts would those be for instance?

I tried eating healthy but not really working. As for coffee I try and stick to decaf and one cup a day, but over weekends it goes to two or three depending if we go for dinner or not.

As for apetite, I am not used this much. With my son I was sick all the time and had to force myself to eat, thus in the end only putting on 8 kilograms and then loosing 17 kilograms afterwards. No such luck with this baby.

At 10 weeks I have put on 2 kilograms so far.

Hi Maureen,

not silly for asking at all! its amazing how quickly stuff fades. ive been hauling out all my 'what to expect' type books for a refresher myself!

regarding what you can and cant eat, the only things ive heard is:
* to control your caffiene intake (one or two cups OK, more probably not so)
* best to avoid alcohol altogether in the first trimester (though later in pregnancy, according to my gyne at least, the odd small glass wont harm)
* stay away from anything that doesnt look fresh- particularly fish, cant think why you couldnt eat prawns?
* certain fishes (shark, swordfish, mackeral) can contain high levels of mercury, so are probably best avoided
* certain unpasturized cheeses are also apparently best avoided.

Personally, ive stopped drinking (all alcohol) and stopped using sweeteners in my tea. I still have one cup of coffee in the morning, from then its rooibos tea.

Im also trying to eat more healthily in general. though today i have a ridiculous apetite. i just ate my lunch (yes, at 11:30!) and am still hungry
:(

Ladies I feel like I have forgotten the simplest things.

Like for instance can I eat the following:

Prawns
Any shellfish
Chicken Livers

What are the big no-no's for now?

I feel silly for asking

Morning all the ladies,

Chubby - I am paranoid as well. Was with the first one like that as well. I have written my worries off for now. What will happen will happen, it is out of my hands and all I can do is stay positive that peanut is fine. In saying all that I can't wait for the 26th when we see peanut again. I wish I had the money then I would have gone earlier but I don't so now I just have to take it as it comes. Remember to relax!

Debbie - moody doesn't even describe what I am. With work being awful, all the politics, I stay cooped up in my office to avoid, avoid and avoid some more. DH is still busy building his business, so single income family at the moment, well since March this year. It has been hard, worst is I have to give my son's nanny notice today. She has till the end of August. I am just drowning in debt and she is an expense I can get rid off seeing as my son is going to a playgroup in August. I just feel really bad as I wanted her to stay on for the new baby, but there is no way I can afford it.
Debbie - don't be worried about after the visit, just stay positive, we are all here for you.

Carol - what do you do now?

Mom2B - my thoughts are with you, really hope it is good news.

Morning Ladies,

about to leave the house to go for my 2nd blood test to see whether my HCG Level has risen or fallen from my last test on Wednesday (it was 6796). DH had to leave on a business trip so I am staying with my MIL and her boyfriend is taking me for my tests and spending the day with me.

I have had pretty much complete bed rest since Wednesday and the bleeding slowed down substantially on Wednesday evening with only a tiny bit today so i am hoping against hope that this is a good sign.

thank you all for your prayers and kindness I will let you know in about 2 hours what the result is xxxx
