Good Morning Mommies

I am also SO glad it is Friday today.... the weekends just cannot come quickly enough

Thank you for the warm welcome - I am really glad to be able to talk about my pregnancy - we have not shared it with anyone yet (only hubby and kids know) and this makes is more real and exciting.

@Anthea08 - Dont stress about the amnio comments - I am doing it because I have just turned 42 this year and I would rather know than not know if there is anything wrong - having said that I have no clue how I would deal with it if there were something wrong. Cannot wait to see your new pics!!

@cherikey - exciting and scarey - when is your next scan? will be thinking of you!!!

@Nadia - my gynae is very good and I am happy with her but it is very formal Dr appt - no warmth or sharing the pregnancy

I am off to JHB for two days next week for work - will catch up with you when I get back

Hope you guys have happy relaxing weekends!!!!

Morning ladies!

Its the weeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkeeeeeeeennnnnnnddddd babbbbbbbbyyyyyy!! :woohoo: :woohoo: What do you have ladies have planned? I have last minute party things to sort out for my LG's birthday party next Sat - her birthday is on Monday though. And we have a family photo shoot on Tuesday for her 2nd birthday! Attached is a pic from last year's shoot!

OMW Cherikey! What a shock that must have been! And still a loss nonetheless...

@ Tracyo: hope i didnt come across too harshly... i have to agree with the other ladies too - if something is wrong then it is good to be prepared! All the best with that hey!

@ Snoekie - i hear you on that 12 week mark!!! Just over two weeks to go for me... We see the doc on the 12th so hope to announce not long after that... And then hopefully the MS will be a thing of the past too... #FX!!

We also found a cute way to go public. At the photoshoot on Tues i will be holding a chalkboard with pics on the scan and the EDD and hold this above my tummy! Cant wait to see the pics...

Hi Ladies

I forgot to mention, when i had my scan on tuesday there was a second empty sac... Gynae said the twin obviously didn't make it... Let me tell you this was a big shock! No twins anywhere near my family... I must say that i can't wait for my next scan to make sure it is indeed empty... Please don't take offense by this... I just don't think we could cope mentally & financially with twins... (although put in the situation i'm sure we would)...

Thanks Anthea, I think this is exactly the case... Hubby is + and i'm a - and firstborn is a + so i think they're making sure i haven't built up antibodies against +...

@Tracey, i know it's not as easy as it's said/sounds... But try not to stress about the amnio... Just look at it as a normal test just like the blood work we have to have done...

@Nadia.... thanks... I think so too!

@Snoekie... I also love going shopping with my dad... My hubby is going away for 7 weeks soon and i plan to spend a fair amount of that time at my dads in Durban.

Those who are already on weekend... ENJOY!

Hey Ladies,

Tracyo,
Welcome To our circle of pregnant bellies...
Congratulations on the 12 week mark. I am so looking forward to reaching that line, so I can shout it from the roof top.

I have to agree with the other ladies, if you wouldn't consider aborting, then there is no reason to do the Amnio. I do understand peoples argument that they wouldn't abort, but they want to be able to prepare for what lies ahead. So it depends from one person to the next. Either way... Best of luck, I can think that this can be quite stressful! keep us updated.

Hi again Ladies

Welcome back Snoekie! You been quiet hey! Glad to hear all is going well with the packing! And woohoo :woohoo: for parents who spoil hey!!! :silly:

Welcome Tracyo - i tend to agree with Nadia, its not necessary as i wouldnt have the heart to abort my baby...

@ Nadia - we went back to our same gynae from my first pregnancy and he was overjoyed to see us! He really is a warm and friendly person, and because hubbies can be a bit isolated in this whole journey - he always kept my hubby in the loop with what was happening and what he was doing! He is a real man's man and the two of them would chat about golf and now the building of the house and the area we are moving too. It was like seeing an old friend again - the familiarity is so AWESOME!!

AFM: Just went to buy Natura Magan drops for nausea AND the Emex syrup! I am desperate ladies!!

@Cherikey - this is according to one of the ladies on the forum here - on another topic...

If she is a negative blood type and hubby is positive then they have to test for antibodies after having 1 baby (meant to happen straight after birth) as if baby is positive like daddy it can build antibodies in the mom that will reject next pregnancies.

Hope it helps?

Have a fabulous Thursday all!!!

Tracyo - Welcome

No, wont do the amnio, and with my pevious pregnancy my baby girl had Trisomy 18 (family of downs syndrome) And didnt do amnio either, reason for that was we would NEVER abort the baby, so why bother amnio?

Hope all goes well with you

Hi Ladies

I went for scan last Friday and US has me at 12 weeks and 6 days today (due date 03/01) - I am so glad to be past the 12 week date.

cheriky - the rhesus test as far as I know is if you have a negative blood type there can be issues if baby has a positive blood type - I am A- and with every pregnancy I have to have injections and also when the amnio is done.

Is anyone else having an amnio? mine is booked for 17 July and I am very nervous.....

Happy Thursday ladies... the week is almost done....
