Hi ladies
Wow, I haven’t been here in months.
Glad to hear that all of you are doing so well and that the kids are also great!! The pics are gorgeous!

Jody turned 1 on 23 December. He had 2 bottom teeth by then and could walk for a couple of weeks too. What an awkward time to have a birthday??? With everyone in the house having a stomach bug since the week before Christmas. I was flat on my back on the 23rd but I did manage to bake him a cake to smash which he didn’t do because he was too busy wondering what happened to the candle, lol. I was just glad that the bug only lasted 2 days for each one of us so when the one feels better, the other one starts to complain. Every year on Christmas there’s a concert happening in the Cape Town City hall and my husband always plays in the band meaning Christmas is a very hectic day for us. Boxing Day we were all so tired that we just spent the day lounging around in the house until I remembered that I booked the gardens to have Jody’s party there the next day…I wasn’t prepared at all. Even though I have made invitations, I never got a chance to send them out. No jumping castles was booked and no snacks and party packets was made or ordered.
So what I did was…booked a jumping castle, sent out a few texts to family and friends, baked cupcakes and biscuits until about 2am. Decorated them the following morning. Went to the shop 8am to get some snacks and treats for the kids. Got hubby to pick up tables and benches. By 12 we were nicely set up with blankets on the grass under the trees with the kids playing and running around us. Although it was not what I planned, it was a most enjoyable day.

Since his birthday, Jody has 4 teeth and the top 2 (next to the front ones) coming through. He hasn’t been sick besides having a runny tummy. I don’t know if any of your little ones also sleep without blankets and with only their nappies on? Jody does it all the time, and he refuses to go sleep unless we undress him completely. He is also a very busy boy, scratches everywhere. The 2 older ones are enjoying him to the max!

Here's a pic of Jody that was taken on sunday.

Hello Tazzy!

Nice to hear from you again! I am sure Connor will be walking in no time at... and then our trouble will start! I cant wait - its going to irritate her Sussie to hell and back - bwahahaha!

Shoo 24 weeks already!! Time sure is flying! Have you decided on a name yet ;)

Your hubby must enjoy this new hobby of his while he can. Once the new baba comes you need to be firm with him and lay down the law. You will need help!! My hubby has now only asked for 2 Saturdays in the month to himself for golf and shooting. Up until now he has been extremely helpful on weekends and taken to playing golf in the week where he can otherwise he does without it... its not like we can just bugger off and leave the kids behind

And the only reason he is now getting 2 saturdays a month is because my mother is staying full time with us this year... otherwise he can kiss that idea goodbye!

And tacitly, i would be requesting a day or two to myself as well... even if it is just sleeping in later on the weekends he doesnt play golf... i think one needs a healthy balance like that...

All the best hey!

Hi Mama's

Nice to catch up on all the news and first birthday parties - so cute and so excting!!
And the little walkers - congrates!
My little angel is not walking yet but pulls himself up on everything and pushed a chair around the house so we will get there soon Im sure - hopefully before his brother arrives in 3 months time!!
Im 24 weeks today and time is just flying - feeling fab and just loving being a mommy! Im starting to get real excited for having a newborn again and being home for 4 months with my big boy - but its going to be tough!! Im going to drink lots of wine and catch up on the last 2 years of no drinking lol
My hubby drives me nuts - please say Im not the only one!! He just brought a hellish expensive mountain bike and a boerboel puppy cause his big doggy died last year and buggers off biking while Im pregnant at home with a 1 year old and a puppy who thinks Connor is a puppy and constantly bites his ears and tigs on his nappy etc!! :headbang: Like when does he think he is going to enjoy this new hobby - I need his help on a weekend when our little one arrives!
Will try upload a pic from my phone

Hi Ladies,

Anthea,
Congrats on the standing!!! Whoop-Whoop!
Sy lyk sommer lekker vol kattekwaad!

Yes, I am still breastfeeding. Looking to stop now that she is 1 and we want a little boeta or sussie for her.

SMA,
I will follow in my mother's suite. We will only pierce her ears when she is older and asks for earings. Then it is a choice that she makes.

Ladies,
I am one proud mamma... Anja started walking last night!!! Now that is all she wants to do, walk on her own! And yes Sma, they look so adorrable with their arm in the air, full of smiles at their own accomplishment!

I should get back to work!
