Hope your scan went okay, did you get any details?
Well my wife has had the worst morning/all day sickness, it has subdued a bit, but she still feels really ill at times! Tiredness is like a natural occurance, by 8pm, she is exhausted. We have started prepping the house/baby room,and going to baba indaba next week Friday at the CTICC. Need to buy a few things!

Hope you doing okay! I feel like there must be more mommy to be for the month of Jan 2014....

I am 12 weeks on Wednesday

We have our 12 week scan today to test for Downs not sure if we will get all
the stuff you got reeeeeeeeeeeeaallly hoping doc says it looks like a boy/girl

THEN only wil DH do the bloodtest for gender testing he wants to hear from gynae first what she thinks so lets hold thumbs!!!!!

Appointment is at 16:50. Will try to update tomorrow!

We can't be the only people on the board due in Jan?????????

How are you all feeling? The tiredness for me started around9 weeks and still going and moodiness (like seriously moody ) started last week at 11weeks. Really hope it goes away soon hate being so horrible lol!!!

Good Morning Ladies...

Well we had our 13 week scan at the FAC in Claremont and what an experience, the ladies there are amazing! We went in not quite knowing what to expect, but geez was it awesome. We saw all aspects of the little one, heart, stomach, lungs, brain. They measured everything and took their time, explaining in detail what was what!

All went well and we even got to find out what the sex is.... We are having a little girl...

Anyone who has not been yet, book and go, it is well worth the money you pay.

They will calculate based on age, family history, and different measurements what the probability/possibility is of you baby developing Downs Syndrome.

Our calculation worked out to: 1:16667

My wife is now onto week 14/15 and everything seems to be going well!

Not really sure what to expect either, my scan is booked for the 18th but i'm quite excited...nervous but excited!

I'm going for the specialised scan where they check for down syndrome and apparently all other kinds of abnormalities. Chances are that they might even be able to tell the gender at these scans.

Hi All, well this is probably a first but I am the DH, my wife is 12w2d today! We are going to the foetal assessment clinic this Friday to do the 13 week scan, very excited! Has anyone got any advice in what to expect when we go? My wife's due date is the 11 Jan 2014.

Hi Naseeriah, congrats! If you don't have a gynie yet, maybe first find out which hospitals your medical aid covers, choose the hospital you'd like to give birth at and then find out which gynies are contracted at that hospital. Just keep in mind they get booked up very quickly so the sooner you can phone for an appointment the better.

Debs, i have also told two of my friends who live far away...both also preganant...so it really does help being able to talk to them. Hubby is now jelous..and also wants to tell one of his friends...lol. Sure everything will go fine with the first visit...which for you is around the courner!!!
I don't really have alot of symptoms yet, some days i actually feel like i'm not preggers at all (which gets me nervous). but no morning sickness or any of that yet.

Do you girls have any simptoms yet?

Hi girls! Sorry ive been so quiet its work and exams and all these new changes! ))

Allsmiles -i have only told my sister in my fam i want to wait for 1st scan which is in 10 days! On the 10th of june. My mom is very sick and the added stress might be too much for her. I first want to make sure i dnt have a blighted ovum, then tell her the good news ))) have told a few friends (although hubby told me im allowed one friend a week lol!) oepsie but im just so excited and its friends i see sooooo little they are so scattered and far away. But yes very excited indeed!

Any symptoms?
