Hi LouisaG

Its going on so fast. We also went for our 24 week scan on the 10th and all seem fine, the Dr confirmed that we are indeed having a boy. Our little Banana was weighing 662g, the Dr was impressed with his growth rate. I have only gained 2kg in total since 12 weeks.

We are also going for antenatal classes from the 29th week, we already booked for that and as FTP we would like to learn as much as we can. We are going to book the bed on the 20th March and we will have our free 4D scan, i honestly cant wait for the 4D scan. I must say that time seems to be flying so fast for me. I am too busy at work and still so active (maybe that is why i have not gained a lot).

I know i might sound very weird but i have not started buying anything yet, I have a list of things i will need and i check the price , we are putting the money away and i will only buy a few and others i will get when i am on maternity leave. How late can i go to maternity leave, i would like to stay as late as i can in order to spend more time with my baby.

When are you ladies planning to go on maternity leave? B) B) B)

Hello ladies

Been a bit of a hectic week last week. Take one day off to go for a scan and come back to work and seem to take a whole week to try and catch up again.

Anyway, went for my 20week scan on the 7th and doc confirmed we're having a girl. Hubby and I are both very excited and I must just stop hubby as he was filling up the trolley with all kinds of stuffed animals and toys.
Most of them meant for 4-5 year age

Baby weighed 360g and doc was happy with everything. Seeing him again at 28weeks with gp checkup in another 4 weeks

Ndinawe, even though you're a few weeks before me, it was a bit of a shocker to see you write only 15 more weeks to go. I had to actually add 25 + 15 on the calculator just to make sure it's adding up to 40 as I just can't believe I too am almost there. There so much I still need to learn - will start taking some antenatal classes from 28weeks onwards.

Have a lovely "rest of the day"

Hi Audrey,

Unfortunately I'm based in JHB and don't know either of those hospitals.. Are you having a natural birth or C-section? I really want to try keep it as natural as possible, no interventions...

Ladies, we had our 20 week scan on Tuesday and the doc confirmed that we're definitely having a boy! He weighed in at 380gms on exactly 20 weeks, seems like he's going to be a big boy :| I'm ecstatic, always felt like I'm a "boy-mommy" :) :)

I hope everyone has a great Valentine's day with their loved ones xx To think that next year this time our babies will all be around 7months old already :)

Keep well girls, speak soon xxx

Thank you Teribeary,Ndinawe and Natasha.
Hubby and I are so excited as this is our first.

Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been getting notifications for this forum.

I have been getting prepared for baby and trying to decide between St Augustines and Kingsway Hospital in Dbn, was wondering if anyone had any advice? S far, I have gotten mixed reviews about both.

Hi Ladies!

@ndinawe lol, he's preparing you for the many sleepless nights to come :) Our little one's kicks aren't strong enough to wake me in the middle of the night yet, thank goodness as I've finally been able to sort out the backaches and get some sleep at night :) Next week seems to have an exciting start for us, I just love going to the scans, it's so exciting!

@NatashaM It does seem fairly quiet.
I've just joined the La Leche League Group - which will help a lot as I'm planning on breastfeeding for as long as I possibly could. Just hope baby plays along :)

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Hi Ladies

And welcome LouisaG and Audrey. Congratulations on your pregnancies

@Teribeary I think this site is quite. There isnt much happening on the other topic's either. I am starting to lose interest in this site all together.

Have you all joined the La Leche Leage South Africa Group on Facebook?
