Good morning ladies

Hit my 11 week mark today!

Still no symptoms except the fatigue... Being a teacher and being around teenagers and having extra-curricular activities till very late in the afternoon definitely does not help the fatigue either!

Been to the doctor on Saturday for blood work on the chromosomal tests. Heard nothing back yet so hopefully everything is fine. Gynae was also worried about my blood pressure, but the GP said blood pressure is fine and there is no protein in my urine so I can relax about that for now.

Now, if only this heatwave will go away!!

Stay happy everyone!

Hi Ladies. Well some good news after my crazy 2 weeks. Baby's heart beat is at 135 bpm and length is the same as due date so all is going along well. I broke my tooth yesterday, and was at the dentist today, joys.

And double joy, i've had some sushi, so that will put my cravings at ease. My awesome sushi bar does smoked salmon on request.

How is everyone else?

Thanks Giggles.

I'm also worried about this persona Dr Barrow has but everyone says he is so good. I have booked an appointment with him in March. I'll let you guys know how it goes *fingers crossed*

If I'm not happy at least I have Parklane as a back up. I have heard nothing but good things about Parklane.

How is everyone else feeling today. I have such a headache right now :(

Khikins - I went to Dr Barrow many years ago. Only went for 2 consultations, I couldn't handle how "cold" he is and never went back.

I had my daughter at Parklane in May 2010, no complaints at all. The staff were very helpful and caring. Even the nights were great with the staff. I took my baby to Storks clinic in Parklane for all her vaccinations and have no complaints about them either.

I would definitely go back to Parklane.

I am only taking 5mg Folic Acid

Good morning ladies

Thanks for the advice :)

I am at the brinx of decision making now and I have two options:
1. An extremely good gynae (though tends to be emotionless) lol. He is in Sandton Mediclinic. Dr Barrow. I don't know if any if you ladies know him??

2. Then my doctor referred me to Dr Ramotsotso in Park Lane clinic. I have never been to Parklane. What is it like there? standards etc. Firefly you mentioned that your gynae is from there?

Otherwise I'm feeling great. No morning sickness as such and I am still eating normally. I do feel like I am coming down with a flu though :-/
Apparently the vitamins you take during pregnancy also either helps or worsens the morning sickness. I'm taking pregvit MR and maybe they are helping me avoid morning sickness, who knows??? The day I was really sick, fluey, light headed, headache was the day I forgot to take the vitamins so....

Hi Ladies,

Welcome to the newbies.

Candibez - how you doing? Good luck with the scan, let us know how it goes.

I have managed to move my appointment to this Thursday the 20th of February, can't wait to see what happens there.

I feel like my clothes are getting tighter, but I think its too early for that to start happening. I have no morning sickness, just a bit of nausea now and again. But the bloatedness is very bad. Even if I have small meals, its bad?
I am also constipated at times. Started eating bran muffins, not a lover of that!!

Firefly - who is your gynae at Parklane. Mine is Dr R. Patel.

Hi everyone

Candibez - my sister-in-law experienced bleeding throughout her first pregnancy as well and her little boy is now 3 so I do think it's possible that your pregnancy may pull through. Good luck with the scan!

Giggles, I haven't had my first appointment yet, in fact I still need to choose/interview a midwife. With my last pregnancy they only made my first appointment at 9 weeks and even then I only met a nurse who took my measurements and listened to the heartbeat (I was in the States and they do things a bit differently there). So I've been really relaxed this time around, lol.
My gynae is at Parklane but I had a chat with her late last year about birthing and although she said she's worked with one or two midwives she suggested that Genesis would be a better fit for me. I'm happy with that because I'm pretty sure she has a high c-section rate.

Welcome to all the new ladies.

Khikins, don't stress, it feels like time is running out but it's really not. You have tons of time. Like I said, I haven't even chosen a care provider yet and I'm nearing 9 weeks. The childbirth course I did last time (and will def be using again), Hypnobabies, recommends you start at around 12-15 weeks. And last time I moved from my group of gynaes to midwives at around 24 weeks or so... Lots of time to research, make decisions etc.

Sonneblom and momzee you are so lucky you've skipped the morning sickness! I had it so bad last time that I lost 5 kg because I couldn't eat a thing and kept throwing up. This time it's MUCH better, I can stomach a lot of foods and have only thrown up 3 times but I'm getting a lot of indigestion so I have to eat really tiny meals, and it doesn't help that I'm STARVING all.the.time. and if I don't eat I get nauseas.
