Good morning ladies,

ahww, congrats Simone. so glad that was hubby's reaction.
enyou the big reveal.

BAngie, some gynies do them and others send you to the fetal assessment centres do them.
my gynie do not even call it an anomely scan, but at 20 weeks, she checks every single little thing from the brain right through to the toes - all organs, spinal cord, you name it.
from there on, she does check the blood flow and cord with every scan

me 35, DH 39

Morning ladies

My gynae does these scans in is room, but with my previous 2 kids, I was referred to a special scanning 'clinic' and we did the scan there. Was really detailed. My gyane's machines don't seem as sophisticated as the one I am used to from the clinic, but we got the job done yesterday:)

So my down's scan went well. Did the bloods as well. Will have results by tomorrow, but he said measurements look good, he sees no reason to stress.

Last night I was saying to hubby, what would he do if we were positive for Downs. He looked at me like he didn't understand. I said: Would you consider terminating? (I don't think i could ever, but was curious on his views as we've never spoken about it).

His reply was: Terminate because my child has downs? Are you insane?

Felt good to know he was so confident in that decision.

So....today I'm doing the gender reveal cupcakes for family and 2 close friends tonight. my daughter is super excited. I asked what colour she wanted and she said: Mummy it doesn't matter. The colour we get, is the colour we get.

He he, thought that was so cute.

Anyways.....its a BOY!

Doc immediately said it was a boy and hubby confirmed. I can NEVER see these things. lol. Buit he said don't paint the room blue just yet, and then just after he did the downs scan and he was about to end he went, ahhh definitely a boy!

Morning Ladies,

It is very comforting to have a group like we have at the moment. I'm not sure if all gynaes offer the scan, my gynae has actually referred me to go see Dr Bhorat in Umhlanga. My gynae would like me to go, because prior to falling pregnant I was on chronic medication that could cause birth defects. I was off the medication for a few months before falling pregnant and Gynae says baby looks perfect, but rather be over cautious.
