Beta is your bloodcount (quantitative test ) for bHCG hormone that the placenta excretes into the bloodstream. Usually a count that doubles every 48 - 72 hours is regarding as a normally developing pg in the early stages. From around 7 weeks the levels do not double anymore and seems to grow slower until it settles near the end of the first tri.\

Must be honest, I'm still not very clued up on all the abbreviations and language that goes along with forums.

What exactly is a beta test?
I have my first appointment with the OBGYN on the 28th.

Horrendous morning sickness but I've been given a syrup called Emex which is absolute magic! I had my first solid meal today in a week!

How far were you along when you went for you first Beta?

So the cramps are a good thing? I will try to only go for Beta’s again on Monday, but knowing myself, I will probably go again tomorrow

I am looking forward to those cramps....
During the last 3 pg- (that all ended in MC's) - I did not experience any cramping and with my first 2 succesful pg's I had plenty of cramps in the earlier weeks. So, for me it feels like cramping is a good thing. Are you going to go for more betas?

no symptoms with me, just cramps and i want to eat everything in sight. i never had ms with my first, oh and i dont sleep much.
