Congrats on "mama" EP, am so jealous!!! Now she's really communicating, Ruru says all kinds of things for the sake of making a noise
See thats the crappy thing bout it, we weren't trying to do sleep training, but DH got tired of trying to figure out y Ruru is crying & cant sleep.
The crappy thing is he cldnt sleep coz his nappy was dirty & we didnt realise it. We also felt crappy for not using our heads & realising there was something wrong coz Ruru sleeps like an angel. So we really felt bad for torturing him by ignoring him yet he was just saying "change my nappy"
Today, we were downstairs with him & he crawled up the stairs, all the way to the top, all by himself, no help needed. I was so shocked!! Now we must b really really careful, the thought of him trying to crawl up, then falling down the stairs has been in my head since morning.'
We put a gate upstairs so that he wldnt accidently fall down, do u ladies think its too much putting a gate at the bottom so he wont crawl up??

Shame Zodwa. I am sorry to hear your sleep training went that way. I for one, don't agree with letting a child cry and scream till he/she falls asleep. But on the other hand, I can certainly understand any parent's frustration when a baby just won't fall asleep on his/her own. Luckily I've been lucky that way that Jaqi can fall asleep on her own without a fuss. Hope you find a solution that suits al 3 of you soon!

In other news.... Jaqi says Mamma!!! And she looks at me/for me when she says it, so it is just not coincidence. Dh and I made a bet about it, he said she'll say Pappa first but I guess NOT! LOL.

Charlotte Sounds so scary, u not a bad mom, Id feel like that too though.
Ruru cldnt sleep the other night, was fussing for over 4 hrs. I got tired of him & left DH to deal with it. DH got tired & decided that sleep training is the future. After 10 min of Ruru screaming I cldnt take it, my heart was breaking & told him I cant do it. Went to cuddle him, he calmed down but still cldnt sleep, u cld see he was tired. Then I thought mayb he's hot, while undressing him I realised his nappy is soiled...... We both felt like the worst parents ever, torturing our poor child with sleep training!! The irritating thing is it didnt smell & Ruru dsnt normally poo @ night. Changed his nappy & he was in dreamland in no time!
I felt so bad I cldnt sleep for 3 hrs

I try and remember to be on Moomie as well..it is an awesome forum. How do I add tickers for my boys...so that you all can see them and their ages? nathan is also 8 months old now..I dont know if you remember I asked a while back if he was ok with his development. Anyhow...we had him at a physio and infact he is a bit behind. So now we will see her for a month and get him on track. Due to his reflux I had him in his bouncy chair to much and that delayed him a bit...hehe...luckily we caught it in time...

Sorry been so quiet. It's quite hectic with 3 kids especially because I'm trying to potty train Yaqeen.

Charlotte - Sorry to hear you were retrenched. Must be tough. That must have been so hectic with Lorelai, glad that it all is ok now.

KKRose - sorry to hear your Themba is so niggly. Hope he gets better soon.
