It's true that honey should not be fed to infants younger than 1 year old. Clostridium bacteria that cause infant botulism usually thrive in soil and dust. However, they can also contaminate certain foods — honey in particular. Infant botulism can cause muscle weakness, with signs like poor sucking, a weak cry, constipation, and an overall decreased muscle tone (floppiness).

Parents can reduce the risk of infant botulism by not introducing honey or any processed foods containing honey (like honey graham crackers) into their baby's diet until after the first birthday. Light and dark corn syrups are thought by some to also contain botulism-causing bacteria, but no proven cases of infant botulism have been attributed to ingesting these products. However, check with your doctor before giving these syrups to an infant.

As kids get older, their bodies are better able to handle the bacteria.

Love the pics!

lonie: seems like amber is getting her first toothie. the gums doesnt always swell up, it makes a almost slit like in gum where tooth will pop out... let us know when you can feel the sharp edges, should be within a few days, if not sooner!!!

so last night this happend but let me begin in the beginning: i always sit flat on my bum on the floor with my legs open wide in front of me then i place bardon at arms length away from me, and he either takes 3 steps towards me or he dives into my lap and "sleeps" on my legs or dives into my arms then we fall over backwards, im helping him this way with his balance. not too many times although he thinks its a great game and often pulls my legs so i must sit on floor. so last night im sitting showing daddy how long he can stand by himself and his few steps or dives and he did it a couple of times, then i did it again, and as he was standing he turned sideways and walked about 5/6 steps all the way to his dad sitting on the couch, i was so shocked i burst out laughing. i will see today if he will do it again but not sure. i dont think he is near walking as his balance is still very off, his legs are strong enough due to the walking ring, but his balance is off...
so bardon is not walking but stepping, yippee!!!!
a true LEO!!!!!!!!

hope you all had a awesome weekend!!!!

Sjoe I wanted to come and chat since yesterday, but my Hubby came back last night and Amber only went to bed a bit later..

Charlene I know the feeling, sometimes I realy put in an effort (I love cooking) and then Hubby will be like - I had something to eat at 16:00 and not hungry yet - argh!

I think Amber's first teeth is going to come out.. looks like a small little hole in her gums, but not sure. Its not like she is giving me a chance to peek in there.

Talking about computer games, My hubby is sitting infront of the x-box tonight.. when he gets started it can last till weeee hours in the morning..
