Thank you H, i went to a dietitian towards the end of 2011 and she created a plan for me based on insulin resistance and PCOS.

I was on the eating plan for a while but had no serious improvement with my weight. Perhaps i should re-look at that plan again and just be consistent with it. At this point any type of weight loss will be beneficial to me.

I am certain that i will find a wonderful doctor who will provide me with all the assistance i need.

Thank you for your all your great advise and the great motivation.

Hugz xx

Hopeful is totally right. Sorry, I shouldn't have suggested just going on a normal diet as insulin resistance requires a spesific diet. I remember my sister had to see a dietician who tailored a special diet for her.

Hi there Hopeful , I am so glad that this post has helped you. I fully agree with gloeiwurmpie, that a chat forum is great for emotional support but good medical advise is vital in this case. What I would also recomend is that you first speak to your dokter before going on a diet and maby has him for a referance to a good diatician that knows about PCOS diets as they are slightky differnet. There are sertain things that you stuggle to metabolise when haveing PCOS even if they are generally believed to be healthy.

I would also just like to note that I am so sorry about your stupid gyni. I get so angry and upset that dokters do this their patience, scare the living daylights out of them by not giving them ALL the needed info and assistance with treatment. I am sure you will find a wonderfully gyni/FS that will be with you every step of the way.

BIG BIG hugs to your

Miss hopeful

With great pleasure!! My heart really goes out to you. It is really not a pleasant medical condition to have. Hormones regulate your entire body not just with regards to your fertility but every aspect of your health. I know that depression is also another symptom of PCOS which makes it even more difficult to manage. Anyone who has been depressed should know that it is very difficult to motivate yourself to follow a healthy lifestyle. I can imagine that one can become extremely overwhelmed if you feel that the "basic structures" that should make your body function well is not operating as it should. That is why I would keep searching until you find a doctor that you are happy with that can guide you to better health and baby.

We have been talking lately about the effects of your psyche on fertility as well, see link below:

Thank you Gloeiwurmpie, coincidentally i have been doing some research on Weight watchers and have heard great reviews about it so this might be the perfect option.

I will start my research today on finding a suitable doctor to help me on my journey.

I am also thrilled to hear that age might not be as big an issue as what my previous Gynae has made it out to be. I guess having one bad experience shouldn't allow me to feel defeated when clearly there is lots of help out there.

You have been a great help and have inspired me to keep moving forward. xx
