What is the meaning of your Kid(s) names???

Naledi - means star
We decided on the name because her eyes twinkle lyk a star, she's the star in our lives.

Lenka
In Slovakian, the name Lenka means- illumination, bright one.

I have a thing for "glowing" things...I am just drawn to it.

Connor - I really liked the name, had not heard it before - it is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and the means "hound-lover." Suits my son. (It probably lay in the back of my mind from that movie the Highlander - Connor MacLeod)

Georgia - it is of Greek and Latin origin. Feminine form of George - means 'Farmer; earth-worker'. I love classic English literature and the name appealed to me because of that. (She was meant to be a Calum, but did not have a penis, so we had to opt for a girl's name really quickly.)

Isabelle - It is a variant of Elizabeth and Isabel - Elizabeth is one of my favourite names, but I always felt it would be shortened to Lizzy or Ellie or something. The meaning is "God's promise; God is my oath".

I decided on names I liked the sound of and then after went to check that the name did not mean Satan's spawn or something, but I am not a big believer in meanings of names ....

I think it is wise to really look up the meaning as it is believed that names follow kids' characters.

Morgan I really didn't know that Carlie has such a beautiful meaning.

I first liked the names, then looked up the meaning, just to make sure it doesn't mean something horrible. Megan was going to be called Hayley until I looked up the meaning which is 'in the hay bale'. And we liked the name Jorge but it means 'farmer' so ya. Now that I'm looking for a name for my 3rd child, I was wondering how many people actually look up the meaning of names. Some are really weird.

My LG name is Carli. Just liked the name the first time I heard it. Only later find out the meaning:

I will start my LG Vukona bya Xikwembu in Tsonga(God's presence),this one she got as my labour was too slow and the nurses were scared for both our lives so when she came out my mom said it was God's presence that's why all is well.The other name Sizothile in Zulu(we are humble before the sight of God),a friend said I am humbly so I thought it will make a good name
