SexyHexy- I have an angelcare monitor with breathing pad from my son but i also don't think it will work with twins in the same cot, it micks up the slightest vibrations so the alarm would only sound if both babies stopped breathing. By the time mine go into separate cots around 5m they will be almost past that cot death stage so i really don't know what to do. I might email Angelcare and see what they suggest although I'm pretty sure they'll tell me to sleep the babies seperately which i don't want to do right away.
as for the pram, my camera died as i wanted to take the first picture LOL but it's exactly the same as the one Yvette posted but it has more khaki green in it than the grey.
At first i was a little dissapointed because it is 79cm wide which won't fit through a standard doorway but then i sat and thought about it, my front door is even less than 78cm so even if i buy one of these expensive R12,000 prams it's not going to fit through either.
The snug and safe is the smallest possible car seat on the market and although you can fit one on the stroller you won't fit 2 because the handle for the car seat is too wide and protrudes into the other seat.
but i was talking to another twin mommy and she said they just used to move the babies out of the car seats into the pram if they went out or when they got home they left the babies in the car seats. To be honest it won't be for that long anyway, from about 4/5m they wake up when you go places and quite enjoy sitting in the pram facing forward.
so after all that i have decided i am happy with my R1300 bargain twin pram which will be ideal for nice long walks, days out and for the twins to sleep in at home or friends houses!
SexyHexy- is there not a toys R us you can go to if you go into a 'big' town, one of these days you'll be heading into Bloem or Kimberly for a maternity ward tour anyways? then you can just phone and get them to make sure they have one of these prams in stock.
I love that you guys are doing all this shopping! Mine will sadly have to wait a few more months, DH works on a commission basis and it'll be a few months until enough comes through for baby shopping.
Chan- you really got spoilt but enjoy it! I'm sure my mum will do the same, she did with C.
i have decided to invest in another carrycot, those fabric ones, i had one for C and it'll be great for the babies to snooze in if we're out at friends or family and they're only R300 so not really breaking the bank.
