Sorry for butting in but I'd also like to know about the Discovery PMB's. I have the option to change over to DH's Discovery with limited maternity benefits (or apply for the PMB's) or stay on Bonitas and get great maternity benefits (private room, antenatal classes, 12 gynae consults, 3 scans). I'm not sure if the Discovery PMB's will trump the Bonitas benefits?

Has anyone applied to Discovery for their PMB benefit for pregnancy? I'm finally on my DH's medical aid after transferring from my Discovery over to his so now want to apply for this benefit and hopefully get it right.

Vix did you end up doing the forms or did you just leave it?

Got my results back - 1 in 8048 chance so really low risk!!

Can't wait for my scan in 2 weeks to see if we can confirm what the previous doc said at the fetal assessment = baby looks like a boy!

Maryke, I really wish I could carry to 34weeks, but triplets dont go further than 34weeks and everyone that I have spoken to/triplets blogs have been maximum of 33 weeks, so I will just take each week/day as it comes. With twins it is more possible to even go to 36weeks. I think it depends on how we carry the babies too. Are you taking anything for your flu? It is terrible!

Chan, have you phoned tofind out if the results are ready? Im not sure how long its supposed to take. So cool that you felt some movement! Last saturday I was lying on my bed in the sun and my tummy was bouncing up and down,slight movements, but very quick, I checked the rhythm of my heartbeat to see if it was me but it really didn't match cos I was quite relaxed, so Im sure it was the trio's beat.

Sexyhexy, so glad you were able to treat dh! ...we have 3 more weeks that we have to wait. After my shower DH asks so nicely if he can please put my oil on, he forgets to put on my tummy!! LOL

I think the 4D scans got from R550/R750, somewhere there.

Ok, so went to the doc yesterday. Got some infection going on! BUT nothing serious She said I have got infection and blood in my urine, gave me strong painpills, a suppository and other meds as well. Have used the suppository and can feel the diffs already! Not so much pain, and feeling closer to my old self again I asked her what causes the infection, since I know me and DH haven't done "the deed" since we found out I was pregnant so that can't be the cause, and she said it is the PH levels in one's body that changes during pregnancy that causes this. So again, nothing serious.

She didn't do a scan, she said when I go to the gynie the 21st, I will be 8weeks and will see more. Because my medical aid only covers 2 x 2D scans, if she did one yesterday I would've been charged But I have also heard that the gynie includes scans in his appointments, only the big one at 12 and 20 weeks will be sent through to the medical aid, the other ones will be free fxfxfx

Sooooo...DH got treated this morning Someone asked me if it is safe to BD during this time, and because I've got infection, but I forgot to ask the doc and she didn't say anything, so I'm hoping I haven't done a bad thing *giggle*

Does anyone know what a normal scan and the 3D and 4D scans cost about?

Carmen i'm so sorry your scan was so nerve wrecking. The first one is always the worst! How far are you now? It's perfectly normal not to see much on your first scan. And that he found a heartbeat is awesome. Try not to stress as it's just so early. That little beans heart starts beating when it's 2.7mm so you can imagine how tiny it is still to see anything.

Maryke I really hope you feel better soon. 3 weeks of flu is terrible.

Yvette that's awesome news! I'm still waiting for my blood results to come back for the Down's blood test. It's been almost 2 weeks already. Wow you're cutting 10 days off your pregnancy - lucky you!!

Binks i'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. Hope hubby makes a speedy recovery. There's nothing worse than being scared at home.

AFM felt movement last night!!! It's so awesome! This little bean loves it when I bath - i've been feeling slight movement the last week when i lie in the bath but last night was a definate kick or something! I'm over the moon!!!
