Solo, sounds like you had a good experience with the birth. I have to agree that the spinal is the weirdest thing - at first it freaked me out and then I just didn't worry about a thing anymore.

Good luck with the breastfeeding. See if you can express some colostrum by hand to give him. I really hope you get it right and if you're determined I'm sure you will. But I have to agree with Laurakim - if it doesn't work, he's going to do just fine on formula.

AFM: had our toughest day yet yesterday. We both cried a lot. He has constant winds and while he's not screaming with pain, it does stop hime from sleeping for longer than a few minutes at a time. I was so fed up and tired by the time DH got home that I basically just gave him to dh and said I needed to go buy bread. Amazing what 15 min on your own can do! I hope he'll be better tomorrow.

Keep calm with the breastfeeding - he will get it. Jack was a very lazy baby the first few days - I actually gave him the dummy to try stimulate his sucking.

(HUGS) and I may get stoned for this BUT remember you dont HAVE to breastfeed!
