Hi ladies,

Beautiful weather outside, hope you all had a great long weekend.

Esmari I am a first time mommy going for c section due to previous history of placenta abruption (sp).

I went to see my gyne today all seems well with baby and myself she weigh 2.3kg was a bit worried thinking she is small but gyne says its normal and that he is not worried.

I previously had 2 x stillborn babies due to placenta abruption first one in 2005 early and 2006 late. I was 26weeks with the first and 32 with the second, we had a discussion with my gyne today and he doesn't want me to carry on until 40weeks, although things are looking good which is what it was with the previous pregnancy, he wanted me to atleast reach 36 weeks and baby lungs to be fully developed and then we decide on what to do.This is what we agreed on I am going to report to the hospital on the 3May which is on Tuesday, Wednesday morning I think by 7am he will do a c section at 36weeks and 4 days, I am a bit worried that my baby is going to be taken out early but I guess that what has to ne done to save her life even though at the moment her life seems to be safe we don't want to wait for that day when thing get out of hand. I made peace with it and the fact that DH is part of the decision and happy with it and the Dr also is not worried. That's it, the 4th of May I will be holding my bundle of joy.

Another thing I need to ask is 2,3 kg enough weight for baby at birth. Please advise.

Hi ladies

MsDee I'm also at work :( Very quiet and no traffic, but still - I'd MUCH rather be at home!

I booked my hospital bed this morning and also booked my 4D scan for the 10 May. So I have a gynae appt and 4D scan on the same day in the afternoon. I'm going to have to take time off work for that, I've been very good about not letting my gynae appts interfere with working hours. I usually get an appt early in the morn or after work, but this is unavoidable.

I got my "tour" of the labour ward this morning as well. Hardly a tour. The sister showed me a room and said this is the observation rooms (where you stay for labour) and this is the delivery room. Finished and klaar. Hmm If I have a Csec I'll be in another ward in any case... Still have no idea where the nursery is etc.

I also saw my gynae this morn. He is happy and all is well with baby and me. Baby weighs 1.7kgs and he is still a boy.

I got a lot of shopping done this weekend. So I'm nearly there, not quite, but nearly there. All still in the packets though! But my house is looking like there is a baby on the way hehe.

Oh LOL BF did the nicest thing for me last night. !!! He made me a nest of cushions and pillows with a hollow in for my tummy - so I could lie on my tummy for a bit. BLISS. Oh sweet bliss. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful it felt. :silly:

Esmarie - thanks for taking over the list. I'm a first time mum and it looks like I might be having a csec.

Rakker and Claire how are you and your babas?

Philipajane enjoy not picking up weight. I'm very envious! And enjoy your hols. I bought a Mclaren nappy rucksack this weekend. I was looking for a rucksack as opposed to a nappy bag because I don't want any extra weight on one side of my body and the rucksack leaves your hands free. And also BF can carry it around without feeling like he is carrying a ladies bag.

MsDee I find that I am waking up at about 3ish every morning and then toss and turn until my alarm goes off. I suppose it's a way of preparing for the sleepless nights that are to come. I still feel like death warmed up during the day though!

How are you doing Betty_F? Nice that you are now on ML.

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all well.

Morning ladies.

Guess who's at work? I love working on days like this cause the office is quiet and there is no traffic!!

Esmari, thanks for the list. I'm a first time mom, going natural.

BettyF, any sign of baba making an appearance soon?

AFM: Didn't get much sleep last night. Was up solving problems, scheming and plotting. Funny now i can't even remember what i was thinking about, but strange enough at that time it seemed important enough for me to stay up for!
Now i don't feel too good
BTW, the whole point of taking a third bag and leaving it in the car is to avoid buying stuff from the hospital chemist which i've already bought anyway. I'm only taking the baby's bag and a small one for me into the hospital.
I had a nice easter weekend, had too much to eat. I'm not sure why i do that cause i just end up feeling icky! I'm tired of over eating, yet i just can't stop! Luckily i don't seem to be picking up any more weight since i got to 10kgs.

What a weekend!! Was far from relaxing but was good :)

I did manage to find a really cool baby bag - so my bags are packed and ready!!

Still feeling yukky but better.

I would have had a water birth if natural was possible - they really seem so awesome!
