Hope everyone is doing well. Been very busy at work with year end stuff, so I haven't been posting much.

Hapi--- I'm glad they are doing well! Yeah lavender is nice.....I wanted something different something not everyone does so I though about tinkerbell if its a girl but u don't get a lot of tinkerbell these days so my dh said u get so many nice winnie the pooh stuff and u can use it for a girl and a boy so I think I will go for that then!

Laliek, I am so glad that you enjoyed your visit with the midwifes.
Henny is great and such a nice person.
With the - bloodgroup, like meags said it is not such a big thing, you just have to make sure that you get the injections
I am O+ and hubby is A+, so we do not have to worry
You will also love Maryke, she is great. What time are you going on the 12th, I will be there at 08h00 on the 12th

I am feeling great, although I think I am coming down with the flu, William has been coughing so I think that I am also getting it

Annika, the girls are doing great. My energy levels are up a bit and my appetite is improving.im starting to look at possible colours for the baby room.So far I love lavender it will also accommodate a baby boy if one of the twins turns out not to be a girl

So glad you enjoyed the midwife and Genesis and you will love Maryke. She is fantastic too. Are you going to do a 4D? I have to say, some of my cutests 4D pics are from 18 weeks. and I think it's only R100 more (or maybe it's R200) but if you are too skint for cash this month - maybe it's worth doing the 4D?? She may even just give you a couple of shots for the price of the 2D

Anyway. I wanted to comment on the negative blood group. It all does sound very scary when it is explained. But honestly - it's not so scary. As Hennie explained, they will test baby and if baby is positive, you simply get an injection and that is that!!
Then with the next pregnancy, you will get that injection once during your pregnancy and again after the birth.
So dont stress too much

Sorry I haven't updated, been busy the entire afternoon trying to sort out my pc. My harddrive crashed and now I have to buy a new harddrive for my laptop - sooooo annoying!!!

So went to midwife this morning, met with Henny de Beer, she's really lovely and I feel sooo comfortable with her and I'm 100% sure I'm making the rigth decision going waterbirth route and birthing at Genesis.

At my 12 week scan the gynae said to me I have a fibroid in my uterus but not to worry too much about it. Today the midwife told me that if the placenta attached to the fibroid or if the fibroid is obstructing the birth canal it could cause problems during birth. So I'm seeing Maryke at Genesis for a scan on 12 March and then she'll do a check for me to see if there is any need for concern so far. If I have to end up having a ceaser then so be it but I just want baby to be safe!

The other thing she told me that I never knew is that because I'm A-negative blood type - if my baby has a positive blood type (my husband is O positive), and my blood mixes with his, maybe due to trauma, or bleeding etc. then my blood antibodies could attack his because he'll be seen as a foreign blood source by my bodies. I never knew that. Apparently as well that if baba is born, and he's blood is tested after birth and it is positive, I have to get an Anti - D shot 72 hours after birth as my body will start building anti bodies against positive blood types and then when I'm maybe pregnant second time, it could cause problems if that baba is also a positive blood type. Very interesting actually and a bit worrying
