Sue King was my midwife in 2008 and she delivered my healthy baby boy (3.8kg's). She was absolutely fabulous. From our very first meeting, she made me feel at ease and confident with my decision to go with a midwife. My girls were also born naturally, but unfortunately with both, I was given an episiotomy. I was very worried that I would tear with Camden, but absolutely no tearing occured.
Sue was absolutely fantastic throughout my pregnancy and an absolute star during and after the birth. I was in very good hands and actively recommend her services to all my pregnant colleagues and friends.

I agree with Amy, Sue kings daughter, I am one of Sue's client/patients and I would like to complement her on the service I have recieved thus far. Not once have i been in a position where Sue has not answered on my call or sms's. I have even called her odd hours and she responds. I have bben the gynae route and changed over to Sue, I trust her with my life and theat of my baby.

Okay so my name is Amy and I am Sue King's Daughter!! I found this article only today and I am HORRIFIED at these ridiculous accusations. Firstly for outside readers please remember that there is always two sides to a story!!

Now I clearly remember this night you are referring to so I just thought it would only be fair to speak in my mothers defence on such an ugly article. Now for those of you that dont know, my mum has adopted a little coloured boy as she could no longer have children due to being a surrogate mother with twins twice. My brother must have been about 4-5months old at the time of this incident. Now normally when my mum has a patient in labour I was happy to keep my brother and look after him, but as I had an exam the next day my mum decided to take him with her so I could get a good nights sleep. During the middle of the night I awoke to a phone call from her saying she had broken down next to a squatter camp!!! Please imagine being stranded at about 4o'clock in the morning next to a squatter camp with a 5month old baby in the car and a patient in labour. (Note at this time there was already a doula at the patient making sure everything was okay.)

At this time the patient requested my mother leave her car and her brother would fetch her and he could assist with her car at a later stage. My mother is dependant on having her car and if by chance she had left it and it got stolen, there would of been more patients left in the lurch. I believe that my mother did everything possible during these circumstances, as she did keep constant contact with the doula and guided her through the birth telephonically of a 100% healthy baby.

As for the allegations regarding my mum having switched her phone off and not being available for a patient, and this resulting in a supposed court case..... BLATENT LIES!! My mother is available 24 hours a day, if she does not answer, her patients are well aware of the fact they must send her a text message if there is an emergency and she always responds as soon as she becomes available. Please remember my mum interacts with countless patients per day.

I would personally like to stress that expectant parents should focus on the MANY positive remarks made about her, as my mother is one of the best at what she does. She is truely an angel and has blessed thousands of families with beautiful births. My mum has albums full of letters to her filled with most the amazing words of gratitude and thanks. She has many families where she has delivered more than 5 of their children, and if she was so "utterly useless", I dont think this would be the case??

SHE IS TRUELY A MIRACLE FROM GOD!!! I PERSONALLY COULD NOT ASK FOR A BETTER MOTHER OR ROLE MODEL!!!

Yay! Hope it all goes well:) I cant compare delivery at home to delivery in a hospital, but I do know that I far preferred my antenatal visits with my midwife to those with my gynae. I always felt rushed at gynae visits - you know, weigh, bp, pee on stick, u/s, see you next time (10 minute flyover). My appts with my midwife were always 45min - 1hr, she weighed, checked foetal hb checked urine, measured by belly, checked bp and then spent time chatting about birth choices and my general mental health. It bugged me that my medical aid paid so much less towards my visits with her:(
