Congrats on the twins!!

I was also due in August - and found that I wore more summer clothing that winter... (also in joburg).
With pregnancy, you seem to run a few degrees warmer than usual...

So I focused more on buying 1-2 pairs of comfortable pants, and then went for summer tops that I could wear my usual jerseys / jackets over. I’m lucky that most my winter tops are zip down, so I just left them open in front.
I had 3 long sleeve t-shirts for the last 2 months in total – and then found myself switching back to the summer tops mid to end July in any case, because I was just too hot.

I found some really nice preggy jeans at Mr Price (fourways mall – not all stores have the maternity range) that I wore from week 10 through to week 41 (and I’m actually still wearing them, since I don’t fit back into all my pre-preggy pants yet )

I have always believed that Leggings do not suit me ... well - my mother and a couple of friends think its nonesense and that Im just over critical of myself. The combination sounds appealing - thanx Cookie.

Truworths, really ? I have never paid much attention to their maternity section, actually I didnt think they had one.

Girly - i live in Joburg's westrand and Im between a size 12 and 14 depending on the cut. Pants are mainly 14 as I have huge hips and a bum

I was also due in August so remember the frustration of needing to buy stuff last Feb where the summer stuff was still in stock.

I also bought most tops / jerseys just a few sizes bigger and especially now you get those long woolen 3/4 tops which are stretchy and very pretty over a bump. Wear it with a pair of leggings if you have the legs for it and when you struggle with swollen feet soft suede boots are really comfy or ugg boots too.
Otherwise definitely get yourself a pair of black maternity pants (woolies / edgars you can get for around R180) and a pair of jeans.

I would buy the tops cheap at pep stores / mr price / pick n pay and spend more on the pants.
Remember you also stay warmer with a bump so you may not need extra thick woolen stuff come 3rd trimester rather long sleeve stretchy tops and open knits / tops over it.

There should still be quite a few sales on the next week or so before stores bring in their new stocks for autum so nows a good time to pick up bargains, especially on the pants.

Truworths has lovely maternity wear if u hv budget for it, can still wear the skirts and tops post-pregnancy

At 30 weeks I am yet to buy myself anything maternity - as I also loath to spend that amount of money of something I will hardly wear. I was loaned 2 skirts and a pair of jeans (I think I've worn the jeans 3 times) and my mom bought me 1 pair of pants. Otherwise I've gone with flowing dresses, which i will be able to wear again after pregnancy.
