Good morning all

You're right Claire, as much as we can relate to our experiences and have opinions on what should and shouldn't have happened, one should not ignore doctor's advise.
So Joey, have your plan but listen to Dr.....

I got a list from my midwife for the homebirth, which I haven't really looked at so now that I realize how much time is left I'll need to get cracking and get the stuff on the list.
Still need to get some vests for this little one and a few rompers....don't wanna go to town with the shopping till I know the gender.

Good luck to all mommies in waiting

Hi YOu all!
Congratz Joey!!!

Hope you all are doing great! I had my baby shower on Saturday. I was really surprised! And we got spoilt! Lots of cloths for Edrich!!

We are doing great, feeling sick! (Luwan and me) Running nose, couching etc. I hate to feel this way, because I can't take anything! We were visiting my sisteri n Centurion this weekend after the tea! Jitte, but my back was killing me... There were times I thought of going to hospital to check out the pains...but her friend is a gynea and we phoned her a few times... Something I have learned - not to pick up a 2 year old, when being pregnant at this stage.... Edrich is kicking like crazy and he is super busy! DOn't think there is enough space fot him inside!

Skitter - how are you feeling? I hope your LO is soon on his way!!! 3 days to go till your EDD!!! I'm so excited for you!

Claire - Thanks for the list! I have bought everything I need, but ai, to pack it in the bag is another story! LOL I was thinking last night I need to pack 3 bags, one for me, one for Edrich, and one for Luwan - because if things doesn't go according to plan, Luwan need to go and stay with someone... I have a few friends on stand by...! But I trust everything will go as planned!!

Chanz - the pics are stunning!!! He is so cute!!!

Liz - bly jy het jou tee geniet! Mens word so lekker bederf!!

Hope you all have a super day!! Chat soon!

Part of the message is hidden for the guests. Please log in or register to see it.
Ons moet nog alles afskeur en oor verf, en so ver is nog niks gedoen nie. Tyd is min, Zelri is baie erg die laaste ruk moet haar orrlas rond dra

Bulelwam, Big good luck with VBAC I hope it works out. I also dont like inductions cause mine did not work out. I started to dilate on the 14 th July when the dr did an internal. She told me I am giving birth that day, but I went through the hole night the next morning I was still 1cm so I got an induction

Claire, thanks for the list will def go through it.

How long are you ladies going to stay in hospital? My medical aid only pay for 1 night if it is normal and 2 night for c-sec?

Hi girls,

Oh my goodness! I have walked my feet off today! There is still so much to do, why did I leave everything to last minute again? I'm sure I had a good reason.

Joey - I was induced at 41 weeks and it was fine. The pain was bearable, the only thing is you don't get a break from it like with natural labor. The dr can tell if the induction will be successful or not. There is a scoring system called the Bishop score. Do some research and ask your doc what your score is. Then once they've induced: walk, walk, walk. Walk sideways up stairs, bounce on a birthing ball, walk in the hospital gardens. It'll all help the procedure. My baby would not have been safe until 42 weeks...there was meconium in the water when he was born. Listen to your dr. ;)

Skitter - I was sure you would've popped by now! It's nice having a big baby, they sleep through much sooner because they can drink more! Hope he makes an appearance soon.

Bulelwam - glad to hear I'm not the only one who just realised I'm about to have a baby. Feels like nothing is ready!

Thanks for the pics Chanz! He doesn't look prem at all! Such a gorgeous baby! Really hope he can come home soon.

Ok, I'm going to post my list next. My baby bag has hardly anything in it because the hospital gives us a bag with almost everything in it. Hope it helps. :P

Hi to all the mommies

Skitterling, my midwife actually 'prescribed' a glass of wine for a preggy friend who was having terrible cramps because of womb stretching.....LOL
You almost there, hang on..... :)
I know doctors like us to worry about baby's birth weights but I'd say don't worry too much.

Lizel, yes, I'm have planned a homebirth after 2 c-sections. My midwife has had successful homebirths with women like you and me and her last after c homebirth was a woman with 3 previous c-sections and her last baby was 2yrs old.
I too had the same experience with induction and ended up with my first c-section.

Joey.....its your choice but I want to cry when I hear someone getting induced.
Are you not open to natural induction methods? If you are, I can recommend some like relaxing to start off with. Remember you EDD is estimated and know that your baby is still safe right up until 42 weeks so don't let you Dr push you around......
If you do choose induction, ask doctor if they can induce you then let you go home...
Ok I admit I might go overboard with this natural birth opinions but please don't be offended. I'm not pressing a choice on you, am just saying you have choices.

Liz....men are like that. Try and relax about it or just take matters into your own hands.....I did and still do. Oh and don't mind your skoonma......All the best girl.

Always lovely chatting with you ladies.
