file Anyone had a ruptured cervix/uterus experience?

Hi Mandy

Sorry forgot to reply here aswell after seeing my gynae

After phoning my gynae on Monday and he said as long as I dont have pain or more bleeding then I am ok. But that afternoon he phoned to say he wants to see me on Tuesday. So they opened the consulting rooms just for us shame.
Anyway he did an internal scan and explained everything in detail. Apparently I actually have two openings with my cervix but he could only stitch the one coz stitching the other one would have punctured the amniotic sac. My cervix is still too short for his liking. So doesnt sound like it grew much since the stitch has been put in. But bubs is doing very well, weighing 720g. The gynae has put me on more tabs to help relax my uterus. I have to go back next week Wednesday.
Gynae says we need to reach the golden mark of bubs weighing over a 1kg. So I have been put on more strict bedrest.

Thanks for the support ladies ;)

Any news Chanz? Thinking about you and hoping all is calm and well with you!? Did the pink discharge stop?

Thanks Ladies

My sister urged me to phone the maternity ward tonight and just make sure. Because I only had the pinkish wipe once and nothing since. The sister says it sounds normal but that I should rather phone my gynaes' rooms in the morning. And take it from there.
I'm positive I will make it past 34 weeks but I think I just have to accept that I have to take the bed rest more seriously.

I am supposed to return back to work in a weeks time. But am really considering if I should. I just have a feeling my gynae won't let me go back if he hears I had the pinkish show.

I'm not complaining but bed rest is really not as easy as I thought. I have now added an extra brick under my bed. Because I know elevating my body prevents pressure on the stitch and also prevents the baby from engaging.

I just want a healthy baby more than anything. I get a little depro thinking that we struggled so long to fall pregnant and now these complications. But we still are very grateful and feel so blessed to be pregnant.

Anyway will keep you ladies updated. Thanks for the support ;)

HI Chanz - sorry about the stress you are going through! You are being really strong and i wish you continued patience, strength and the ability to wait one day at a time. Regarding your pink discharge, I had that once so far and i am 18 weeks. It could be a sign that something is wrong, but in my case, and hopefully yours, it happened with one toilet visit and then went away.. I would ask a professional. I used to call the maternity ward first and see what they recommend - as getting in and out of bed is also something you want to avoid. But my gynae always recommended that if you are nervous about anything, rather go straight to maternity than to the emergency room which would just delay the help you get.. They will tell you to go to the emergency room if you dont need urgent help..

Pls keep us posted..

oh and more advice - dont buy anything for baby just yet, anything could happen - if baby is prep not even new born clothes will be small enough and there is special prem clothing that you will need!!

Take it easy :)

i would recommend going to get it checked out. There shouldn't be any pinkish anything. Hopefully it's nothing, but better safe than sorry.

(i had a stitch put in at 13.5 weeks and am now 24 weeks - never had even slightly pink discharge)

Hi Ladies :)

A quick question. Those that had the stitch put in, did you at all have any light pinkish show as your pregnancy progressed?

Last night when I went to the loo and wiped it was a very light pinkish colour. Got less the more I wiped. And when I went to the toilet again there was nothing. I don't have any pain or contractions. I am also on tablets to stop contractions until 28 weeks. baby is still kicking. I am seeing my gynae on thursday. Should I wait it out or should I go to the emergency room?
