Hi Mich

Wow 10 year age gap - well done mommy.

I really found out late, but I would say pack your hospital bag from 28 weeks :) I would say check what your hospital gives you and baby then as well.

For baby I packed the following:

Car seat (in car - my hospital will not allow us to check out unless we bring it in and take baby in it to car)
burp cloths - 3
clothes - 7 sets
going home outfit
hats - 3
receiving blankets - 3
toiletries (my hospital provides this)
hooded towel
pack of 28 nappies (again provided by my hospital)
wetwipes
changing mat for nappy changes

Me (I am doing a planned c-section):
Toiletries
towel / facecloths
I cannot stand being in my pyjamas all day so I am taking:
underwear and socks
breastfeeding tops x 3
tracksuit pants x 3
going home outfit (same as arriving at hospital)
breastfeeding pillow and my own.
breastfeeding book
slippers
snacks (chewing gum, energy bars)
sports bottle for water
camera
cellphone and charger
iPod (relaxing music)
my preferences plan - just a few things I want to say.

So it looks like she will be here in 9 weeks from my calculations.

How many weeks are you now?

Adele - ha ha I am Ms Organised trust me :) I have to be with a toddler.

4 m/c's: 1 2003; Sept 2009 twins; Dec 2009; May 2010.

April 20 2011 c-section - Rowan 3.18kg (My Clexane miracle)
14 July 2012 c-section - Gemma 2.9kg (My total surprise miracle)

Morning Moomies,

Lola, Congratulations on team pink! I just love little girls. I have also been getting crazy braxton hicks (Also my second pregnancy), even though overall this has been an easier pregnancy for me.

Mich1227, Hallo and welcome. I have also been really swollen the last couple of weeks. I think my age (36) and being overweight is seriously contributing to 90% of my pregnancy niggles. The hospital will give you a list on what to pack as soon as you book your bed. I booked my bed at around 28weeks, as most hospitals offers a free 4D scan with the booking of the bed and the best time for the 4D would be between 28 and 32 weeks. On when, I guess it is up to you. I wouldn't wait too long as full term is considered anything from 37 weeks ;)

Shrew, WOW! You are extremely efficient. I still need to rinse baby's clothes and pack my bags! But then again - sometimes I an be the worlds biggest procrastinator!

Weight wise, I was doing so well having picked up nothing for most of my pregnancy and then, boom 3kgs the last two weeks  :S

Pregnancy niggles currently includes serious constipation (with piles  ), serious swelling (hoping the travelling over the weekend had something to do with it and that it will settle down), braxton hicks, very very little sleep and you wouldn't believe it blocked sinusses! But hey, at least it is the very last stretch.

I can't wait for my gynae appointment on Friday. It feels like forever when I last saw my little man.

Hi Lola

I must admit I havent exercised much during this pregnancy, lazy I guess. Four kids is quite a handful i must say. The first three was from my previous marriage and yep now a "laat lammetjie" on the way lol. I never ever thought if I would manage or not. How many do you have?

My first three pregnancies were relatively easy and relaxed. If my tummy didnt grow I would have known I was preggies. I guess age plays a huge part with this one.

Its great being on this thread and like you said lets hope it does pick up. There is so much to say and share!!

Have a superb day further.

Hi Ladies,

How is everyone doing?

Well my little girl and I are on the home stretch. Hospital bed booked, Babies hospital bag and my home setup bag are done. Mine I created a list so even my very capable hubby can get what I need. I have only gained 9 kilos this pregnancy (I was lucky and lost all my preggy weight), my gynae is super impressed, but I really do not feel like junk food like I did with my little boy so it is really easy.

Had my baby shower on Sat so feel super prepared and ready. Love my family and friends.

Are any of you first time moms breastfeeding? I would really recommend finding out the hospital's lactation consultants details (where you are giving birth) or in Berry's case find one in your area :) Also really recommend the La Leche League breastfeeding book - I am very determined to exclusively breastfeed this time because of costs etc.

Berry - whoop whoop team blue :) (Luckily you bought very little pink, can you exchange it perhaps) How are the cramps?

Mich - hi and wow on number 4 :)

Lola - my 2 pregnancies are very different. Rowan was high risk, had to inject myself everyday. this pregnancy has been smooth sailing (touch wood)

Mom2be - how are you feeling? getting more excited? :)

So we have quite a mix of girls and boys? I wish all of you nothing but the best, we are really so blessed :)

It really is great to share your pregnancy with other moms to be altho this thread has been rather quite. I havent experienced swollen feet but I also get really tired all the time. Its becoming a mission to even go grocery shopping. Have just been trying to exercise and even joined a preggy yoga class which has been really great. Wow, I really admire you having 4 kids. I would also love to have a big family but just dont know how we would manage. Have all you pregnancies been similar?
Have a great weekend and nice to have u chatting on our thread. Hope it picks up from here on out.
take care

Hi Lola

Thanks for the welcome.

You wont believe how excited I am to be able to chat to other mommies and mommies to be.

This is my fourth :tmi: . DR told us its a girl, so I guess another team Pink. Every time we go for a checkup we make sure the sex hasn't changed lol.

I'm due for my next app on Thursday next week and just cant wait. I'm really getting tired now and my feet are ten times the normal size even though my BP is normal. Do any other mommies have the same problem? I can barely bend my foot and its getting difficult to drive.
