Breech at 33 weeks

Great news!

An update from my side... (I tried to post this yesterday but it disappeared for some reason!)

Junior has turned!!!!
dont know when exactly it happened, but the little bugger has finally decided head down is the way to go.
My placenta is quite low lying, but the gynae on monday said that she doesnt see any reason why this one cant be born naturally.
wooohoooo
so now Ive gone from fear of the unknown (c-section) back to fear of the known (natural birth).
but the absolute best thing for me is that baba will now pick his own birthday. im not quite sure why this has become so important to me... but after believing for a while now that my choice had been taken away, im ridiculously excited to have a chance at another natural birth.

thanks for everyone's comments... wish now I hadnt stressed so much. my husband has been saying for a while now not to stress... but its easier said when you're not the one with the baby about to be born!

Oh boy does that head under the ribs bring back memories! Mine used to stretch out diagnally and it could get SO uncomfortable. I used to have to tap him on the head to get him to stop stretching - it looked like somebody was punching me from the inside out.

I was still in breech at 34wks and my gynae was not in the least bit worried. He told me we could discuss options at my 36wk appointment if I was still in breech. Unfortunately my baby decided to make his appearance at 35wks so I didn't get to see whether he would have turned. He was not one of those who would swing from time to time. He was breech from very early on and stayed that way.

Just one thing to consider and that is to find out what kind of breech position your baby is in so that you can read up about it. Mine was in a very bad breech position - both feet first - and I had a quick labour which resulted in me nearly having to give natural birth which could have been dangerous. I didn't think to ask any questions around this kind of scenario so you may want to consider just covering all these bases.

A star gazer is actually a bad position to be in as instead of tucking the chin down towards the neck when going through the cervix the baby is looking (gazing) up which can result in getting stuck because of the chin getting in the way.This is only applicable for your footlings though. Mine did this.

no news yet but thanks for asking.
I havent had a scan/midwife appointment since 33 weeks... going in on Monday for my 36 week scan with the gynae so should know more then.
I was very sore about a week ago, so hoped that was the beginning of a turn...
But since then I still feel a really hard, head like bump right under my boobs, so think he's more likely to still be breech
time will tell.
