Tazzy, Discovery might, we are on Bestmed and last year they didnt but from this year they do...!

Ok, saw gynae today, he has prescribed the pill in conjunction with the Mirena. Says we'll then know if the side effects are Mirena based etc. The Mirena is male hormone, and the pill is female hormone. So lets see... I'm trying to be positive!

It really is a lot of money to pay and not getting the 5 years out of it....

MommyN, that is exactly how I feel, almost 4 year with no issues and now.... a totally different story.

I will have to monitor the situation and see how it goes.

good luck with the new contraceptive and i hope you don't have any issues with whatever product you choose.

Thanks, I've made appointment to see the gynae next friday, my gynae has moved to nelspruit, so I'm seeing the replacement because the gynae I want to go to has a 3 month waiting list! I cant have another 3 months of this. I think I've made up my mind to have it removed, now I need to decide what contraceptive to use... I totally agree Yoza, my happiest days were the 4 years before falling pregnant and 2 years after falling pregnant for the first time! But I cant take a chance...

Nads, very strange, since you have been very happy for 4 years?

Yoza, you need to speak to your gynae about the itching, at least i havent had that! I hope it all works out for you!

I'm so confused! Thanks for the input!

I am sitting with the similar symptoms, except for feeling moody and nausea...

I got the mirena almost 4 years ago and up to now i was very happy with it. I did not have any period, no pains and no spotting until about 2 weeks ago....

All of a sudden, my breasts were very sensitive and sore. And I have pains similar to period pains and now the last couple of days, some spotting....

Been to the dr, did a sonar, and did blood test, but not pregnant.... very confused at the moment....

MommyN its been two months since my mirena was inserted. I have period pains all the time. My periods are irregular. I blame it on the Mirena any birth control I tried has had side effects. Im moody and feeling light headed.

Only when I was not on birth control was I happy I just needed to do the maths and stay clear during ovulation.

Im having my gyane checkup and will raise the problems I have. Oh another thing I am always itching down there I have never had that problem but now its always there.

I also paid so much money for this about same as you and Im so flipen stressed with it. Im not happy and I have two kids.

Mommy N, my body only settled in about 8 months after it was inserted. I still had acne and the extra weight gain.

It seems as if it varies from person to person since the women who are happy with it really love it! But the women who complain really suffer....I also didn't want to remove it because it was expensive and there was the "promise" of it getting better.

Mine was removed during my whole ectopic drama (while I was awake), so I was in a lot of pain so my experience won't be an acurate indication of how it is to remove it without general aneasthesia.

good luck with your choice!
