Homebirthing death..

I saw on News24 that a pro-homebirthing women - and a spokes person for homebirthing, tragically died during child birth.

This promted 100's of comments about serving her right, and thats what hospitals are there for and why its safer to have a c-section and so on and so on.

What went through my mind was - why the hell are the deaths of women giving birth in hospital either through natural, or c-section, never reported? Why oh why is the world SO against home birthing!

While I understand that if you have a high risk pregnancy, best would be to deliver in a hospital, but if its plain sailing, why not at home? Where you feel safe and secure?
I would kill to have a home birth! Maybe I still will one day.

In the meanwhile my long term plan is to open a medical facility that looks just like a home - where REAL pro-natural people work - to hopefully give women the best of both worlds.
