Horrible Gynae Visit

Perhaps she was upset about something, maybe had a birth or go wrong before your appointment. But, if you did not feel comfortable with her, then its best to get another doctor. Otherwise, maybe give her a second chance??? Do you know of anyone else who used her as a doctor, always good to hear about other people's experiences.

Thanks for the advice, Yes I will definitley go with my instincts and look for the doc that has the bedside manner that makes me comfortable.

My hubby as well was not impressed on this doctors behaviour, and he wants me to complain about the treatment and service that was rendered.

I agree with him, but this is my time, my time on being happy and enjoying every moment of this new creation with in me.
I actually don't want to stress on that doctor by taking it further.

welcome to Moomie and congratulations on your pregnancy.

Sounds like a horrible experience, but don't worry too much, the best scans are yet to come (the ones where you can see an actual baby rather than a blob)

Trust your instincts and if you have to meet with a couple of Dr's until you meet the right one, then so be it. Remember that you are paying for a service and that the Gynae is not doing you a favour.

I liked my Gynae at first but as time went on he did not seem to want to support my birth choices and wishes and so I ended up changing Dr's two days before my little girl was born - it was the best thing I ever did .

I wish I had changed Dr's in the beginning when I had a nagging feeling about my first Dr. it would have saved me a lot of stress.

Don't expect Lengthy visits though with any Gynae's , the norm is about 15 - 20 minutes. That's why next time I am going to consider the Midwife approach , I have heard they really take their time

This is just my observation: i find that most of the time the female gynaes tend not to really care much. Reason being they might have their own children or have been through the experience and they dont really find it amusing any more.

I once tried one and she was very serious with me, like lets just get to the point kind of attitude.

I already made another appointment with another Gynae at Clinton in Alberton.

Hopefully my next experience will be a better one.

I say start looking. She is just not the one. You need to look forward to your next visit, not wonder how your gynae`s mood will be like next time.
