lightbulb leaking amniotic fluid in 2nd trimester

@ Kathleen thank u so much for that info. I haven't tried it out just yet but I've been really trying my best to drink as much water as I possibly can.

Despite trying to remain positive, the leaking isn't over yet :( again this morning I woke up to a soaked pad (sorry tmi)
I've been monitoring my temp and counting my pulse and they seem to be in the normal range but my urine has been really dark even though I've been drinking a lot of water!

I don't know what else to do... A friend of mine suggested I ask the doc to do a stitch - is that possible at 20/21 weeks with no fluid? If the docs have informed me about it when I asked are they just not trying hard enough? It will be disappointing to know that they are just not looking at any positive options, and to think that doctors are meant to do all they can for a positive outcome

Hi Naaz,

I asked my friend who a couple of years ago also leaked amniotic fluid. She was monitored and then also sent home for bed rest. She told me she drank gummi berry juice in that time as her guinea told her that she needed lots of fluids and rest.

I've googled the gummy berry juice or jungle juice for you:

Makes a 2 litre batch

1 litre of apple or berry juice ( Can be up to 2 litres depending on how much flavour you want)
1 litre water
50ml HerbaForce Schlehen Blackthorn Berry Elixer
1 sachet blackcurrent flavoured Rehydrate or Gastrolyte (oral electrolyte re-hydration solution)
1 Cal-C-Vita-tablet
10 drops of Rescue Remedy (used for relaxation)

It is used during breast feeding to keep up hydration and boost breast milk.

My friend returned on a weekly basis to her doctor and was fine.

Really thinking of you!!

Lovies xx

Sorry to hear there isn't any more amniotic fluid yet. Really hoping with lots of bed rest that it does start to replenish itself. Also be sure to drink lots of water to help.

So glad she's still kicking away though, and really glad you've been put on antibiotics just in case.

I don't think she's in any pain *hugs*

Please keep me posted. Sending lots of positive thoughts your way and really hoping for the best xx

So my scan didn't go very well, fluid hasn't replenished and baby's heart rate was 163bpm
Doc says normally when heart rate is over 160 then its a sign of infection but couldn't pick up any infection due to me being put on antibiotics.

So I'm home on bed rest going through everything over and over. This morning again I leaked a bit of fluid but there's still some movements from this little angel. I just pray that all that she's going though right now isn't causing her pain - what hurts is knowing your child is in pain and there isn't anything you can do to comfort her :(

Will keep posted - next appt is next week ... Still hoping for a miracle!

Good luck with your scan.
It's really great to know that you haven't gone into labour yet - that in itself is a good thing.

Really holding thumbs that the scan shows some positive news.

Hi Huggles

Still trying to hang in there!
As daunting as it is I'm trying to be somewhat positive no matter what the outcome. I'm really scared and don't know what the future holds but will be going for a scan today to check if levels have somewhat increased ... Crossing fingers

Will let u know the outcome

Thanx a mil for your support
