During my first pregnancy I was lucky and didn't have any morning sickness - there was the odd day where i didn't feel quite well, but nothing major. But now during my second one I've had it bad (probably karma) it started at 6 weeks and lasted until 19 weeks, and then finally I thought I was done, only for it to return at 21 weeks.

What has helped me has been:

Peppermint tea
Lots of cirtus fruits
Ginger biscuits

Haven't been able to distinguish nauseating triggers as my neausea seems to be constant...so just pushing through.

Good luck!

Hi there,

I had very bad nausea in my first trimester>>> I tried everything I could find on the shelves... ginger pops, Sister Lilian, etc. to no avail.

What worked for me was some peppermint tea, ginger root tea, plenty of fresh air and a lot of rest. Being tired just makes morning sickness worse.

My OB-GYN at the time told me that the worse I feel the better my baby is doing and that definitely helped me get through;)

Just remember that it doesn't last forever:)

Homeopathic remedy Symphoricarpus works like a bomb!

1. Magnesium shortage can cause nausea - bathing in Epsom Salt is one of the best ways to increase magnesium intake (KiddyCalm is fantastic and affordable), 2. H. Pylori is a bad bacteria that lives in the gut. This has been associated with causing ulcers and even tummy cancer. Using Colloidal silver on an empty tummy has shown marked reduction in this bacteria and some mothers have found marked reduction in nausea. Although it is claimed to be safe in use during pregnancy I would discuss this with your Gynecologist first. 3. I used a Bioband which transmits an electrical current on the inside of the wrist associated as the acupressure point for nausea reduction. This helps me with motion sickness as well. 4. Fermented foods help control h. Pylori as well so try and eat fermented foods and drinks with foods such as kombucha tea or apple cider vinegar in water. 4. I found smells extremely nauseating and peppermint oil on a tissue at hand helps to cut the nauseating smell. 5. Although possibly not so natural but my sister is currently struggling with nausea and she was recommended Asic tablets work well.

the only thing that does it for me is anything citrus, the smell of lemon or lime, or drinking or eating oranges, nachi's or making lemonade it gives me loads of the much needed energy and eases my nausea.

My preggy vitamins make me nauseous if I take them after meals, so I also have to take them while eating.

Asic and anything containing ginger - ginger is a natural nausea remedy. I even kept one of those bottles of ginger beer sweeto at my desk at work to add to water!

Pickled ginger was amazing, also sucked on it same as the cheddar cheese ;)
