Hey Everyone!

I'm also new to this group.

So I am pregnant withbmy first child :) and today I went for another check up (I am 12w3d)

I am so over the moon to see a properly formed baby. I was also told the gender which really surprised me. I had convinced myself it was a little girl, but much to my husbands delight we are having a little boy!

He was so active, and even sucking his thumb. I am at a high risk for CDP (due to being petite) does anyone else also have this?

@Blou - I agree with gib and jaybee - that you can see at 12 weeks if you go to a fetal assessment centre. Normal gynae's usually dont have those machines and they can only tell later on. My gynae does not have the ultrasound to do 4D Scans and we do it at the fetal assessment centre. So unless your gynae has a 4D ultrasound, I would not put my hopes on it yet.
This is exactly the reason why my gynae does not even start to guess so early...because I know I would be so upset if he tells me one thing now and 4 weeks later something else. But anyway, if it is a boy - they are lovely. I would not trade my little boy for anything. Hubby also wanted a girl the first time and I was afraid that he would be disappointed, but it goes away quickly. I am happy that everything looks fine with your downs tests. How many blood samples did they take? I cant remember from my previous pregnancy.

@ Blou, oh your scan put a smile on my face how beautiful your baby is. My sister went for the 4D scan at 12 weeks with her first and it was confirmed she was having a boy which she did. Then with her second baby she also had a 4D scan at 13 weeks and they confirmed a little girl which she had :) and we are from Cpt too.

Welcome M2B3, this is such a lovely forum and the more the merrier

Thank you for letting me feel welcome

@Blou - with both my boys we only found out at 20 weeks, only because our Gynae didn't want to get our hopes up.

Now this time around, we are not finding out.

I am hoping for a girl but have a feeling it is a boy.

Can't wait for my first scan on the 14th of October.

They can definitely see at 12 weeks, if they have a good quality ultrasound machine. Here in CT at the Foetal Assessment Centre they def tell you at 12 weeks - and they have got it right for everyone I know :-)
