Ally at the end of the day the couple themselves must be happy with their choice and 100% on board with it especially now that there is a baby involved. I know lots of couples that continued to follow their respective faiths after marriage and their kids were exposed to both and chose once they were old enough. Personally I don't like that too much as it's too much pressure on a child ...
Hope your friends resolve all these issues soon so that they can really enjoy their wedding, pregnancy and baby!!!

Ally- my opinion is probably not one that most people would like to hear but it's pretty straight forward. He needs to speak to his fiance` and explain how he feels about converting. If she feels it's a decision her family must make then in my opinion the marriage will not work. A couple need to be able to agree and trust in each others beliefs and wants. If they need permission and opinions of their familys then how can they have a good trusting relationship? I have never asked the opinion of my family on anything to do with my relationship and I stopped Elwyn from asking my dad for permission to marry me. He wanted to marry me not my father and my father does not own my life. I have been in inter racial/religious relationships myself and I would never expect those people to give up their beliefs or ways for me but I expect the same respect in return. So basically my view is, they discuss it as a couple, when they are both happy with a decision they will 'infom' not ask the family. O.k I paid for my own wedding purely because I did not want anyones opinion or say on my marriage. So far it's working pretty damn well! Oh and they must remember, they fell in love because they were attracted to the differences, why change to be one way?

Lisha they have been together on and off for the last 6 years. They actually just got back together after being broken up for almost 2 years lol.

Well she is C's cousin's cousin. So not blood family and his uncle married her aunt (i know it's confusing) and he had to convert. So I'm sure Paulo would have to convert. But his family wouldn't like that. They are portuguese Roman Catholics and shooo I hope it doesn't cause too much tension.

Julz my younger sister married a muslim and converted. She's been to Islamic classes etc and now she is more into Islam than my bil is lol ... When a stranger speaks to her they probably won't even know that she was once Hindu, much to my dismay :( But so long as she has God in her life and she's happy we're fine with her choices...

Ally my sister married a Muslim man years ago. It depends on how strick they are when it comes to their faith. My sister had to convert and change her name etc. They ended their union after two years. His sister married an Afr man and he had to convert from NG to the Muslim faith.

Another friend of ours has just married a Muslim guy and she did go for a few classes but has not changed her lifestyle. She wears low cut clothing etc. She does not eat pork though and does not drink. Other than that no change. Their baby due soon will be brought up in the Muslim faith even though she is not religious.

Nelria sorry about your rough night ... we don't mind the rants  We understand preggy hormones better than anyone I guess.

Nicole glad you had a better night, hope K just goes back to sleeping well and that you don't need to sleep train.

Julz you'd better get us that video asap ... sounds so adorable :cheer:

Ally Shrey is more batsman and soccer player  Throws the ball pretty well but I think he's doing better on the soccer front ...

Ally I think MissK is the only muslim lady in our group. WRT converting I think that is based on what they as a couple want firstly and then also taking what their families want into consideration. Your friends have probably been together for long enough now to know what the other expects???
