I thought R1500 was fine, but R2700? I mean GEESH!! We're looking at a school that's about R1700 a month. Will go to all the schools next week.

Where's Fairlands? We stay in New Muckleneuk. Close to Brooklyn and Waterkloof. But I'm willing to drive to Lynnwood, Moreletapark and erasmuskloof areas if need be.

Vix: I can only imagine how annoyed you must have been with hubby making an issue when you did not hear the alarm go off. It happens my dear and does not mean anything your body is exhausted and tired and good on him that he heard it thats why he is there.

Vix i wanted to ask how do you juggle, house, husband, toddler and babies. I struggled over the holidays but eventually got buhle and siba into a routine so as to to everything in the house? ANd still need to find time to yourself.

the kids are great siba now gives me hug when i get home i think its becaue buhle cries she sees me. he quickly runs over for some attention. im loving it and enjoying every minute. the joys of motherhood.

buhle took her first step but fell flat on her bum. missed it though.

she loves teletubbies she dances shaking her bum too cute i must say. still not sleeping through but mummy has made peace with it.

Ally you're one oopsie away from 3 (or 4 with your twin genes!)...lol. I dont know...we are 3 kids and I just like it that way...we're all close. Good luck with day care.

Do you ladies know anything about how old our kids must be to go to Grade 1? One lady said the kid must already be 6yrs old. My SIL said just turning 6 in the same year they go to school. So just wondering which it is.

I'm hoping they must already be 6 so I dont have to make the decision about whether I should send her at 5 like I went to school. Its nice to finish school 'younger' but i was always with kids way more advanced that I was..as a result I was drinking and smoking at such a young age (12 in standard 6) due to my emotional youth...lol. Not all kids will be naughty...but I think if I was held back a year by my parents I would have been more confident in my decisions...cause I always felt I was being naughty and didnt want to do things, but I did cause I didnt wanna be the 'baby' of the group!

Anyways...that is completely off topic and no idea why I am even thinking about it now!

hate to tell you this but R1500 is pretty average my friend! Sorry but sendig the little buggers to creche's is a expensive business!

Bryce school costs me R1410 pr month - he gets all his meals etc & a afternoon snack but I have to pack a snack & juice for 10am. Then on top of that its R150 per term for all their stationery that they use like crayons, paint, paper, etc.

And then if you still want them to do extra mural activities like Monkeynastix or Playball for example that another R320-350 extra per term.

its becomes a expensive business.....(for the parents that is!)
