Hello
So I took both to the paed yesterday, Oliver is a-ok, clocking 16.4kg and a very tall 1mt lol. He's very happy with everything, doesn't think there's too much wrong with him not talking but sent us for a hearing test just to be sure, Oliver's hearing is perfect so it basically comes own to him being a lazy little tyke who doesn't feel the need to talk just yet lol. He said if there's no improvement in the next 6 months then we need to look at speech therapy but for now we can just continue encouraging him.
As for Nina, she's also doing well, both our kids are off the chart when it comes to their height and weight lol. He reccomended immediately stopping with the Lactogen which I was going to have to do anyway because Nina really doesn't like the taste, she gags on it and was only drinking just enough to keep her happy, certainly not enough to thrive. He's suggested going back to the Nan and then giving her one or two bottles of Novalac IT each day until her stools are normal. She had a normal movement today so i haven't given her any but I'll see how we get on tomorrow as it could just be the meds still working on her. He said if she still doesn't seem happy on the Nan then to try S26, I still had Nan in the cupboard so I've put her back on that and her bowel movements have immediately improved but I have a nasty feeling I may still need to change formula as not only does the Nan give her terrible wind she also doesn't seem to like the taste of that either - little fusspot. I think I'm going to give her a week or so and see how we get on with the Nan and then take it from there.
Everybody always says no two children are the same and I suppose I kinda took it for granted, Oliver was so easy, as soon as I made the change to formula he was much happier, I gave him Nan, he started thriving and settled into a routine immediately. I just don't feel like I've got it down with Nina yet, it still feels like something isn't quite right (and I'm pretty sure its the formula), I wonder if my mothering instinct is right?! I don't want to change her formula immediately because I'm terrified of causing constipation again but I'm almost certain that that's what I need to do - like I say I'll give it a week or so and then see.
Funnily enough I was chatting with mum about it and she said compared to my brothers (she had 3 boys then me) I was really hard work, it took them a long time to find the right formula for me (all of us were bottle fed as my mum had to have C-sections with us and her body went into shock after each op so her milk never came in, back in those days c-sections were done under general anaesthetic). Apparently I used to fuss over the bottle and they battled to get me to drink enough until they found the right formula (I still don't like milk!) so I wonder if maybe I haven't passed it on to Nina lol...
Julz - Good luck for tomorrow, thinking of you. X x X
Simone - I think I would've flipped my lid as well. Not fair when someone does something against everything you try so hard to enforce.
Vix - Shoo its a big decision to get sterilised! I don't think I could do it unless I had, I'm far too fickle so I'd probably end up chaging my mind lol

You've obviously thought about it loads and if its going to make you happy then go for it
Zee- LMAO at Z wanting to pause the Teletubbies hehehe.
Ally - Thanks for the compliment, I can't say as I feel like supermum but I'm certainly enjoying it so hopefully that's the vibe that comes through my posts. Have a safe trip back. SUcks that we're going to miss you and the twins at the meet.
Yoza - Like Siba saying Buhle, Oliver can also say Nina, he only has maybe 10-20words in his vocab but Nina he could say almost immediately...weird.
Lisah, Lelani hope you both feel better soon.
Everyone else, hello! Can't remember anymore than that I'm afraid...
Have a lovely evening one and all
