Zamzie - so sorry to hear about your ordeal!! Shame tog! Poor Immana but I'm sure she'll be fine.

Vix - I don't care how I do it but I WANT THAT BUNTING! LOL exactly like we discussed so when you're ready you tell me and I'll pay you per meter in the colours & materials we spoke about.

I'm waiting to see IF I get anything then I'll decide how I'm going to go about getting his room done. I've got the paint already (Karli's mom works for Plascon so I bought a 5lt double-velvet for R260 and she's given me 2 pale-blue shade samples of 1L each at no charge)
So, its just the bedroom furniture, curtains & bedding really that need to be covered. Put I'm trying to say optimistic at this point because if I dwell on it I'll start bawling my eyes out again! So I'm waiting to see IF I get something by end Aug and then I'll take it from there.

And yes you would think that a big company like this would keep costs of living in mind and everything else thats gotten more expensive during the year when they consider the increase percentages - but no, here you get rated on your performace and because I didn't do everything perfectly during the year (their EXACT words) I'm not successful.

Julz- can you not lay with him for a while when you put him down? I know you didnn't do that when he was in the cot but I also didn't with C but he just found comfort in me staying with him at first. I know Dylans bed isn't high from the ground but I think those sides Iput on C's bed make him feel safe like in the cot too. I don't really know what else to suggest because the transition for us was easier than leaving him in the cot to be honest.

Leigh- I'm glad Frans' interview went well, I hate interviews so really would not be chuffed at multiple ones for 1 job. Oh and now I'm going to tell you to put your prices. Up! R250 for that lingire cake is ridiculous! I would've expected at least R400. The ladyt my friend found to make the christening cake is chgarging R400 for a round single teir vanilla cake with a baby & blanket toppewr and instead of. Those little coloured balls you put around. The bottom she's making sqquares like building blocks. R400

Ally- here's something I think you need to consider when making quotes, if everything flops and you newed to start again you need to have at least covered your costs again before ending the job. I understand you want to get your name out there but actually If I was faced woith 3 quotes 2 @ R1200 and one at R700 I would be weiry to take the R700 one for fear of bad quality or service. Just send your list out to a few caterers and see what they would quote so you have a better Idea for future quotes. You're really doing yourself out of money here doll!

Simone- well it's nice to see my friends were confident over team pink LOL. Good job I didn't make things in pink yet hey? LOL

Oh guys! Wow out of the blue yesterday Elwyns boss (actually a friend of ours aswell as his boss) told Elwyn he would like to buy a twin pram for us! He says if it was 1 baby he wouldn't worry about your costs but because it's too he feels he'd like to help out! How cool is that! So that means I can probably afford to buy myself a small twin stroller that will fit in my car when they outgrow my single pram! And now Elwyn says I must really hava. Good look and choose the twin pram that best suits lifestyle not budget!

And my friend wants a list of friends and numbers so she can organise a baby shower. Last time I had one organised by the old ladies at Elwyns work and it was terrible and they charged Elwyn R600 (not quite sure what for, maybe to pay for the presents). I always feel. Really bad when I have to give numbers ver or invite people to things like this though because I hate the idea of people feeling they are expected to buy gifts, I would rather have people come and gave fun without bringing a gift than to feel they HAVE to be there, especially in tough financial times. I wonder if I can get her to make it a 'gift optional' shower? I don't know, I'm terrible when it comes to worrying about how other people feel. Like Simone's whole incident with MIL, if it was me I'm rather she was there than bought a gift along.

Jessica- sorry to hear about the lack of increase again this year, I don't think that's particullay very encouraging of such a big company like yours. I would also want to find a new job if I never got an increase, let's face it costs are higher every year and I'm sure they put their prices. Up every year! Well can't we organise Bryces room on a budget? If I have a look at what red, blue and white sheeting is on special we can make a cheap duvet, the bunting we can make from scraps and bits I might have in the cupboard still, what else..... Buy him a second hand wooden bed and we can make bedsides like I did for C and paint the bed. What else do you need? Come friend let's make this a budget bedroom challenge? You're going to need him out by feb when baby comes hey?

My cousin's girlfriend in the UK is expexting the 4th great grandchild (ok the first 3 will be mine LOL) so. That's pretty special, she is due in Jan too, I hope it's a girl although I'm sure tmy cousin would like himself a boy! My Aunt (his mother) is coming to SA for a holiday in Nov so I can send back lots of Babybear gifts for them! They'll love it I'm sure because Jan in winter in England.

Oh yeah, Julz, My Aunt and Uncle will be flying into CT in Nov and were looking for some top tips on places to go and see. They're thinking of spending some days in CT then driving through to Durbs to maybe take a Game drive at th that side then up to JHB to visit family. I I juust have no idea what's good to do in CT. They are mid 50's love fine dining and sight seeing, they're definately not beach people but love a great social life if you can thing of aywhere in particular they should be visiting down there will you please let me know. Ogh yeah and as much as my uncle HATES it my Aunt is crazy mad for good shopping.

Leigh, I used to make a lot more profit on the cupcakes but I really just want to get my name out there right now. With the next function I'll add R50 and I'll keep doing that until I get good profit. I would rather gain clients now and not make too much profit than not get anyone coz my prices are too high.
I can't charge the same as Vicki Crease or By Word Of Mouth (the 2 biggest caterers in JHB) because I don't have the same facilities or the same experience. I'm starting out so I need to pay my dues.

And it's at least not like I'm making a loss. All the basis are covered so the R100 is a bit of a bonus. A baker that I spoke with recently said at the beginning she used to work at a loss just to get her stuff out there. She actually gave me such a good idea. She said I must bake mini cupcakes (which won't cost me much) and go to office parks and just distribute them as samples. With business cards of course. THat way people taste that you bake yummy stuff so more people will be interested. I think I'll do that in about 2 weeks. I'm going to take them to all my family's office parks to begin with.

Anyway, last night was much better than I had anticipated. Aidan woke up at 12h15 vomiting but we just cleaned him up and put him in our bed. He is still sleeping. Abi didn't wake up once and C only got her out of her cot now. hopefully they're getting better.

Re the bed story. I'm going to wait as long as I can to move the twins. They still sleep relatively well in their cots, they've never tried to climb out so no need to move them just yet. I'll wait until they can understand what it's all about and get excited about their own beds you know? Well that's my plan anyway, we all know that these kids don't care about our plans! lol

I have one major nausea. I do hope im not pregnant. I also have diarrhea. It might be food poisoning.

Siba is doing great. I took him to the pead as he has a very bad rash (looks like eczema) rash all over his body its quite bad. The pead has refferred him for nuerodevelopmental assesment. Im rather sad about that part of me feels like cancelling. have not told DH.

And i told him that when i was at home my aunts told me that some of the children in the family are late developers

My dad's funeral was beautiful but a lot of family drama. Not that i let it get to me.

inlaws were there they were happy to see the babies.
