Ally- that sounds like you're not charging enough for profit, remember it's not just time but also electricity, and usage on machinery etc. maybe you should find a couple of companies and ask for quotations on exactly the same food and see what they would charge.

Ally glad its nothing to serious with the twins. Hope everybody will feel better by tomorrow. wrt to the catering, is R100 enough profit or should i say worth all the trouble? Im to certain about all of that so was just asking?

Vix, he just said coke is fine. He said to not be scared of giving sugar when a child vomits because it gives them some energy. I know flat coke helps me when I'm nauseas so I add a tsp of sugar to the coke to get all the gassiness out. Aidan vomited all the rehydrate and salticrax out but they are both sleeping now. Shame man, I hate when they aren't well. And it's really like aggressive vomiting. You can see their bodies like convulsing when they vomit.

Zamzie I'm so sorry about that. But Vix is right, get her tested before you panic too much. I've just read online about nannies with HIV and they say it's VERY rare for her to infect your child. Keep us updated!

I just worked out the quote for Nosipho and the ingredients alone are costing me R500. Ridiculous. But then again, she does want strawberries which aren't in season. I'm adding R150 delivery to JHB and R100 profit for myself. Do you guys think that's ok?

Zamzie- sorry about your tough time! But i think it's important that you just have Imanna tested before you stress yourself out too much. HIV is only contracted through bodily fluids like blood and semen and not saliva or coughing, sneezing no real day to day fluid movemenets. Uless your nanny had an open wound at the same time as Imanna it's unlikely Imanna is infected.

HIV doesn't actually show itself in symptoms until it becomes very bad. AIDS however will show a lot quicker.

Sadly the law doesn't allow for HIV?AIDS sufferers to be forced to divulge such information when working with children. It's discrimination in the same way as racism.

This has been the worst day of my life. Yesterday I found out my old nanny who was very good that left 5 months ago was HIV +ve and strang enough I did not notice any symptoms. So my fear is what if she infected my little girl. So I have cried & been feeling really bad, this afternoon I will take her to dischem for a rapid HIV test. Imagine an innocent soul having to go through all that. I am praying all goes well.

Ally- I'm pleased it's nothing too serious but it'll be horrible if you all get it at once!

Did the Dr say Coke was a good idea or just that sugar wasn't bad? I'm just wondering if it's the caffine that's not a good idea? i don't know, but what i do know is that carbonated drinks help keep the nausea away so not always a bad thing when feeling sick.
