O ja, forgot to ask:

newbie - please let us know more about the belly belt thingie for after baby. I never did anything like that after Ethan and wish I had, cause I'm sure if would have helped. My question is how long after a c-section can you use something like that??

Naomi- our Antenatal instructor was saying that her DVD's are old (2004) and they would be open to someone volunteering to do another. It was more of a joke, but I could see that there was no chance any of the woman would be keen to do it. I have to agree that it is educational and helps us see what we are in for, but that must take guts!

Newbie - I really feel for you being so nervous about the hospital and what lies ahead. I can relate, but luckily for me is that I only get annxious and teary when I get to the hospital or talk to the Dr about it. The rest of the time I'm ok, but mainly cause I am brilliant at denial. Its one of my most successfully deployed coping skills. Not sure if there is anything anyone can say to make it better for you. I think maybe just that if you start feeling teary, or anxious, try to use some positive re-inforcement. Like saying over and over, everything is going to be fine, I am going to have a wonderful experiance. Hubby sometimes reminds me that worrying will not change the outcome of anything, if you can't control it, don't worry about it as there is nothing you can do about it. Shame man - really feel for you.... don't know what else to say! I see you and I are almost excatly the same. What date are you planning your c-section?

Juandre - Shiloe is beautiful. That is a lovely picture, she looks so ladylike - lovely!!

Ladies - Dr wants to start seeing me every 2 weeks from now (29 weeks) anyone else at this stage? I'm sure with Ethan I only went every 2 weeks from 32 weeks? not sure.

I've been doing some reading on the net, it could be iron deficiency they say, among other things.I fortunately haven't had some soil yet, but I'll give my gynae a ring today to see if she can't see me or recommend something...

Oh my gosh, a VIDEO, for other people to see??? I like to watch that "birth stories" thing on zone reality and I always wonder, do these people know that the whole world gets to see this...but on a positive note, they get to educate some people, DH's younger sister lives with us, she is 18 and everytime it plays, i call her to watch with me.

Still catching up on all yesterdays posts, but have to respond to this soil thing quickly. A craving for soil (and ice and toilet paper) can occur in pregnancy, but it is an indication of a shortage of some vit. Please chat to your dr and he'll give you something, but whatever you do.... do not eat soil. There is some kinda bacteria or something in soil that can be very dangerous for us during pregnancy, which is why we should not garden, or change kitty litter. If you want all the scientific info, I can google it for you, but I remember reading this somewhere. Hope this helps, please give your dr a call...
