Lucy I really do think it's his ears. He was fast asleep last night and twice cried out terribly in pain. He was warm, fast asleep and his tummy was full so what else could be hurting him??

Not going to go for bloods just yet. I am just going to chill and see how things pan out because I did test really early again so don't want to go through the ups and downs of testing and then start bleeding anyway.

Just going to wait a week and then go have my bloods done when 4 weeks is way gone.

Trying to just go with the flow here.

Lucy - The surgeon said the only reason they'd operate on a baby of this age is if the hernia was small and the bowel was inside it like Kades because then you run the risk of the bowel being strangled. In Kade's case the hernia is so big that there is no way the bowel could be strangled. The risk of putting him under anesthetic is way greater than fixing the hernia for cosmetic reasons. There is just no way the hernia could be causing him any pain or create colic like symptoms at all. They are totally painless hernia's unless the bowel strangulates.

He said the longer we can wait to fix it the better and safer for Kade. He would suggest 18 months to 2 years if we can wait that long.

So we have to put all the night wakings etc to his ears! We're seeing the ENT specialist on 7 July again to see if the fluid has cleared - if not then he'll have grommets put in immediately.

Chan I wish 5 hours sleep! Why does surgeon want to wait? Did he offer any temporary or interim measures?

Well Tessa has a cold and I caught it. Need to put breast milk and iliadin up her nose. She has reflux and she has to do losec for 2 weeks to see if it improves. Eish! Well I am knackered, not easy looking after a lo when you not feeling well. Hoping tomorrow is easier!
