Thanx for asking Angi. He got discharged from hospital this morning. Had a fever last night, but he is ok now. He has to gett stuff from the pharmacy he has to inject himself with.
Its actually a very poisenous snake that bit him. If it bit him properly and not just grazed him, he would have been dead within 10mins.

Ok, too emotional today. Just want to cry cry cry!

Nicegirl- it is very unlikely that your golf caused your mc. I am from kzn and don't know pretoria drs. I did not have am op so can't help with what is normal, I am sorry you had such a traumatic experience though.

Klk - so glad you got an answer. I was just wondering last night if you had heard. Well a poa is always good and I am glad that it is something that is an easy fix.

is somebody from Pretoria here? I want to try the Pretoria East Hospital and would like to know your opinions. Actually I heard about a good gyneckologist there and will try make an appointment with him.

It's not easy to speak about a MC with people who never had it.

But now, I really think that I had to leave playing golf. I made break in playing for 3 months I think before I got pregnant and then began to play again during the pregnancy. This thoughts drive me crazy. I didn`t play a lot, but for stomach it is a lot, I think.

Girls, how can I stopp thinking about my fault?

The other question is if you doctor examined you after the operation? I mean with ultrasound or with hands?

Did you doctors actually examined you with hands or only with ultra sound during the pregnancy?

When your bleeding begins, did the doctor helped you or just told you that it is ok and not dangerouse? Did the doctor prescribed you ultragestan? When? I began to take it after 4 days bleeding. I can´t understand why I had to wait so long. Maybe we could safe the baby. I read a lot of sucesfull storries about taking ultragestan und staying in bed. But I didn`t know about it.

I would like to know all the details.

Did you need to put a tablete into the vagina bevore the operation? Was it painfull?

I had real labor pan. I will never forget it. It was very painful and I didn`t understand what kind of pain it was, because I don`t have children. That`s why I was very afraid and crying and shouting... My husband took me to the hospital at night and it was very bad. I have very bad experiences regarding this day. Then I received a pain injection and after about 30 min the pain was over. I afriad to have this pain again.

I really would like to meet some of you who lives in the Pretoria area!

Hi Nicegirl, sorry for your loss. Not much more I can add to what the other girls have said but I must iterate, you must talk about it and grieve, talk to us, your DH, your folks anyone. I just found the more I spoke about it the easier it got for me. I truly am sorry. Unfortunately when you do fall pregnant again, it is a constant worry of "will it happen again" My whole pregnancy with my LB was like that. Unfortunately it is out of our hands. Big hugs to you!

AFM, Doc called FINALLY, he says I have a corpus luteum deficiency and that the Clomid should hopefully help it. He wants me to take it for 4 months and then if im still spotting then he'll probably increase the dosage and will then only do monitored cycles. Not too keen to wait 4 months so will see what he says after 2. Ai, too stressful, I tell you.

Most times early miscarriages (1st trimester) are considered chromosomal abnormalities and NOT something the mom did or did not do.
A LOT of development takes place in the first trimester, and I understand week 9 to be the most crucial as that is when the heart develops. Sometimes things just dont happen correctly with cell division and there is a deformity and the fetus aborts as it will not be sustainable with life.
Up to 50% of pregnancies are actually miscarries with a majority being chemical pregnancies (fertilised egg but fails to implant and is flushed out like a period) but as such go unnoticed by many.

What I'm trying to say is that you dont have to worry AT ALL about you doing anything to cause this loss. These things are sadly out of our control.

And also, there is very little in the way of explaining it, and as someone said no one here has ever found a conclusive reason for 1st trimester miscarriage.

Oh yes on statistics - 1 in 6 pregnancies result in miscarriage.
After 1 miscarriage your chances of a 2nd miscarriage are the same as the chances of 1 miscarriage. After 2 miscarriages the chances are increased. Only after 3 miscarriages will gynae's delve further into testing and establishing reasons for MC unless there is medical reason to believe otherwise / underlying conditions with the mom.
I'm referring to 1st trimester mc's here. 2nd & 3rd trimester usually has something to do with mom's body / placenta etc and therefore will require investigation so that the next pregnancy can be monitored / fixed.
So you dont have any reason to worry any more about a MC than you did before this one. The only thing is that it causes you to stress more about it now that you're more aware of the possibility. My eyes were really opened after mine, I really did not realise how common it was.

And regarding things like exercise etc - your friends are very mean & insensitive. If you say none of them have had a MC before, then they do not know what they are talking about.
It is generally accepted that you can continue with the same amount of exercise you were doing before you were pregnant, but for example you cant start training for a marathon when you were not exercising before. And to stay away from stomach related exercises as well.

Anyway that's my story. Hope it helps some. And please continue with your questions if you have any thoughts / doubts / fears etc.
