Mina i didn't use anything, my nanny bought harlemansis (sp) when she came back from her leave, she applies it everynight, i'm so used to the smell i love it.

My MIL is coming this week 2 c the baba ( for the first time), Lord please help me not to loose it.

That woman just gets to tits, anyway she'll be in my house now, so she'll abide by my rules.

My family we dont practise anything. When we came back from hospital my gma whispered 2 her that she has arrived home and that she should not b afraid of anything that happens in our yard as the Lord is watching over us. We did use haarlemensis everyday even when we were not going anywhere.

Ntoko I also had a drama ya you can only go out with her when she is 3 months old. I told my granny that seeing that when she needs sumthing I can go buy it but if I want to go out I cant take her with then my only option is 2 leave her behind. She was 6 weeks old and I felt that I was better and could handle anything then. We were allowed to take her with.

With this baby I am not going back home dh will have 2 assist. (I hope my experience will b almost similar 2 when I had my daughter)

Yep! Thats the reason why im asking. On my side of the family we will not do anything to protect & stuff. Yes we use haarmans but that is just it. But now bd was telling me some instructions he got from his father as to what to do to the baby so that she doesn`t give me a hard time & now im shit scared I think im just gonna let bd do his thing, mina hai i dont know.

Yandi's cord fell off on day 7. We didn't do anything to "protect" her. I've never used haarmans when we go out, but then again. The only time she's been out was when we tok her to the clinic and when we went to my grandmothers house. And she didn't cry uncontrollably on both occassions. My gran just told me to whisper in her ear whenever we are going somewhere.
At home we've never had an incident where she would cry at night not wanting to sleep.

It all depends on your family's beliefs Ntoko or BD's family beliefs. They might have their own way of doing things.

I have a friend who's baby is 2weeks younger than Yandi, her BD's family has told her that her baby must not be seen by any1 outside of her family until she is 3months and only after be mendzela o'msebendzi we mbeleko.
