I don't like my Dr!!

Amanda, I totally agree with the other mommies - I changed gyanae's when I was 5months pregnant and am so so glad I did!

It's never too late - I agree with reluctant mom, check out the new gynae first before you change.

You have to be completely at ease and most of all you have to trust him/her as he/she will be responsible for bringing your LO into this world.

Amanda, I really think you should turst your instincts on this one! I happen to be with Dr M Trouw at Pta East hospital and he is VERY VERY pro natural. If he needs to do a c-section, he waits till the last moment, he won't give you a c-sec date until a day or two before as he wants your baby to be ready to come naturally.

Please go see him, he will take you if you explain your situation. And don't listen to the receptionist if she says he is full, instist on her phoning you when there is a cancellation. Explain your situation to her as well, they have been very kind to my cousin who also changed docters in a hurry.

He is the kind of guy who won't say much, but will give you a straight well explained answer for any question you might have.

Amanda - I agree with Julz, don't stress about what to do anymore, pull finger now and do it.

Find an alternate GYNE that has been recommended to you. I personally would make the appointment with the alternate GYNE first, go without my file, have them examine me, and get a feel for whether this person connects with you.

Be honest, explain what has happened, where you are and so on. If you feel this new GNYE makes you feel more secure, then have them request the file be sent over and make another appointment for the week after so you can be re-examined with the file.

You however do need to realise that you are then walking away from previous GYNE at that point, as you have said the relationship is now unfixable.

So it is a case of finding an alternate doctor and quickly.

Brilliant. I do suggest that you still go for a second opinion. He may be right so just make sure. Never ignore doctors orders, just question them.

I also hate it when a gynae says you will never conceive etc. As long as you have an egg, sperm, a uterus and tubes, anything is possible.

My birth plan at 3am was that I will send him an sms telling I am not coming for the CS. Then I will chill at home until the baby tells me he is ready to come out. I will then go to Pretoria East Hosp. which is less than 2 kms from my house with Frank Sinatra's "I did it my way" playing in the background.

In June 2009, the Dr told me I cannot conceive due to the fibroids and would need all sorts of expensive treatments. My husband said leave it to God when he is good and ready, he will bless us with a child. 4 months later we were pregnant.
Did I mention I did not have fibroids until I met the Dr ?

So maybe my gut feel and God's way will be enough to deliver the baby safely.
I will call Pta East Hosp for assistance.

Then tell him that just like you have told us. I dont' mince my words anymore. They are human beings just like us.
