I have no advice on the biting!! Wish I had but yeah. Soem moms may think I am a monster but I smack. And no my kids are not any worse off because I smack. It works. Xadriaan was always biting and after smacking him, or telling the other kids to bite him back he stopped. Well, I am very outyds I guess but I belive in that saying " 'n pakslae op sy tyd is soos brood en konfyt" which basically means a hiding on it's time is a charm. I do not smack for every little thing but when a certain behaviour calls for it...?

I can not believe you still have not been paid. I hate people like that. DOn't they know you NEED the money?

BTW Are you still sitting for us on 20 May?

And also, let me know if you are working on Tuesday... if not we can do your TTD session!

LOL tabasco sauce! Argh shame man. I really hope you get him to stop! You can't even send him to a naughty corner - he's too small. Or maybe you can try.

The mom and their domestic watch him during the day. The mom is also quite strict about the biting and is even considering putting tobasco sauce on his tongue each time he bites, combined with the "No, don't bite, we dont bite eachother"

There are no friends with kids his age as he is a laatlammetjie and mom had him when she was 44. So all her friend's kids are in high school!!

He does go to aqua tots but there is no interaction between the kids.
He also goes to clamber club, which I will attend with him tomorrow so we'll see how long the session is and if he bites!!!

Shame man. Who's normally watching him in the day? His mom? And don't she have friends with kids? Strange that he just bites like that.

Joli I don't know...

I honestly think he needs to go to creche, even just twice a week so that he is around kids. At the moment he is hardly ever around them and I guess he doesnt know how to act and gets over excited.

He can definitely hear as he is very responsive.
I cant take him back there...I have been going to the orphange for 5 years and I love my babies there too much to expose them to the biter!!!!!

OH Meags. The boy sounds a bit unsecure. I think you should keep taking him so he can learn. You need to include the word biting when saying no and you need to include that people don't bite each other. NO MATTHEW, WE DON'T BITE EACH OTHER and then remove him from the situation. Also try to stay close by so as soon as you see his going to bite, you are ready to stop him, before he actually bites. I wonder if he can hear properly? He sounds very frustrated.

Well I had a very unsuccessful day :(
I dont know how many times I said "NO"

I took him to the orphanage so he can play with kids his age.

He immediately bit the other toddler so I said "No Matthew, that is not nice, it's sore"

He ignored me and carried on playing, unphased...

He then kept trying to hug the newborns and hugging = biting so I kept having to tell him to be gentle etc, which was ok.

Just before we left, he hugged a little girl of 5 months and then bit her on her face. Her chin and lip started bleeding (not badly, but still) :( So I then shouted and said "NO matthew that is horrible and you've hurt the baby!!"
I picked up the baby to calm her as she was SCREAMING (obviously) and I walked to the other room to sit with her which then sent Matthew into a screaming fit.
He stood my me screaming and crying and bawling his eyes out. I ignored him and continued comforting the little girl and told him, "Look, you hurt the baby" and he just kept screaming to the point that I had to leave.

It was a nightmare and I will not take him out for a play date again!!!!!!!!
