Morgan - I used to say the same thing, much rather have a c-section than a dentist appointment, granted at the time my dentist was not the gentlest man.

But yes, a c-section is often not as bad as it can be, however I am sure it depends on each women, and also what your body endured during the pregnancy, and also whether you had gone through labour and possibly ended up in an emergency c-section situation, which my guess might be a bit more traumatic for your body.

Day 1 and Day 2 aren't great, but after that you are good to do.

I will admit first c-section walk in the park, could not understand what the fuss was about.

C-section 2 taught me to keep quiet and accept that maybe it can be really sore.

C-section 3 was a lesson in humility, so each women and each pregnancy is different, so do not think you can't say "fek this hurts" because everyone else says they feel fine.

We all experience it differently.

I thought my feet were going to pop if I wore those socks for a min longer. But I had really bad swelling. the marks the socks made on my feet from being to tight lasted for a week!!

I was on different pain meds than the other ladies in my ward being treated by another dr.
I was given injections in my tummy to make sure all blood comes out, put on antibiotics straight away to prevent any invections, and then instead of voltaren I was on rysin (sp?) and then another tablet to increase my iron levels.

I never had socks. I got crapped on for crossing my legs but that was it.

The socks are actually really really important to prevent deep vein thrombosis, but I couldn't wear them either due to swelling thanks to my kidneys giving hassles. I couldn't use voltaren either due to bleeding so had panado in the drip and PLENTY pethadine.

After all other surgeries I have to wear them for 2 weeks. Hate them but it does reduce risks.

I've just had a lightbulb moment here. I was only given enough pain meds for just over a week and I really suffered. Also I only had voltaren in hospital. I thought that was the norm?!?! If I do this again then I'm definitely demanding pain meds for a few more weeks. The meds definitely definitely take the pain away. Take them ladies. Don't be an idiot like I was and not ask for more!

I was exactly the same as Morgan. By the time I got home I was virtually pain free and only taking the odd panado. 1 week after the op I dropped the panado and was easily walking around and performing household tasks. My doc said not to bother with the belly belt. I started off plus size and put on far to much during pregnancy but I did do preggie pilates 2-3 times a week from week 14. I have a char once a week and no other kids. I went back to gym this week (week 9) and it was fine (although I nearly died when I tried going for a run but that's unrelated to the Caesar ;p) So far I've lost about 16kg just from breastfeeding and eating healthily (I.e no junk food) but have another 13kg to go :(

Those socks they put on after the c-section was also a HGUE waste for me. My feet were really swollen and I just could not handle those socks squeezing the daylights out of me!!

Dr said it was fine to take off but then to remember to wiggle my toes often. Not that it would of made a differance what he said cause those socks were coming off iether way!
