Terrified of birth process

Hey Nef, yes I felt quite silly once I noticed everyone was here under there usual names and I cant change mine back..
He's fine, I'm going back to work for 2/3weeks from monday and I'm quite stressed about what he will be eating, hes teething at the moment and thats a bit boring but otherwise hes fine. He laugh's now and that makes the whole world seem like a better place,

I am STILL working on my birthstory... I think it would be a nice read once it's done...

From the ones I've read so far I must say I made all the right choices and my birth was a great success for me.

I would not have coped with medical staff, my midwife was enough of a distraction..

I love that I had nothing attached to me, no needles or monitoring bands or restrictions of any kind.

I think when your giving birth your body takes over BIG TIME, and I was a passanger in the drivers seat, cruizing.

It was exausting, I did have a big boy, 3,65kg's.
But when my midwife remarked after that if we were at hospital I would not have been able to order them around as much, I was super glad we were on my turf!!lol

Everyone has a different opinion about this. I chose an elective c-sec for various reasons but mine turned into an emergency c-sec. I was really nervous until 3 days to the birth and then calm. I used to think about things like would I be able to do this, raise a child, would I succeed as a mom. The calmness that I experienced made the birth so much easier. My best friend on the other hand had a bad experience in the same hospital, same doctors and also a c-sec. In my opinion, i think it is stress related. She was too worked up about the birth.

The golden rule is to be calm no matter what you decide on.

To true Nayeela, I am scared of needles and doctors in general... which was a big factor in chosing a homebirth, as this involved no medical proceedure..

For Hypnobirthing, Nef makes you right down your 5 top fears on a paper and then at at your last lesson you do it again, amazing how much more possitive it is!

I suggest you list down your fears and then look at your birth options (i.e. natural, c-sec, hypnobirth etc). Learn about the pros and cons of each of those birth and see which one will make you more comfortable with regards to the fears that you have.

We all have different fears and expectations when it comes to birthing and you can make the call on what would be better for your situation.
